Non-blood thinning pain reliever

Okay, there's no health section (I think I'm going to request one in ttma) so I'm not sure where to post this.

I have been having chronic nose bleeds for about the past week. Most times they last around 30 min sometimes happening two or three times a day. Today I had the worse one yet. Lasted about 45 minutes until it finally stopped. I have a doctors appointment on monday for a consult/refferal to the ENT. And in another 2 weeks I have a cardiologist appt.

So until then I'm doing all the doc said to do to help and prevent anymore. But today's bloody nose led up to a fairly bad sinus headache. I can't take asprin or ibuprofen due to the fact that they are blood thinners. So is there any headache/painreliever I could use that will not thin blood?

upon googling I came across Tramadol
try checking that out, but I guess it's not so much a full on pain reliever as it is meant to take an edge off pain so a person can function better

That's what the ENT is for. I'm not even totally sure what's going on yet.

Do you think fitness is a synonym for medical professionals?

Good idea. Let's let 14 year olds give medical advice to total strangers.

Way to take the initiative

Tramadol? Are you ****ing kidding? That's like using a wet towel to bandage a paper cut.

Weird and made up on the spot, sure. True, however.

OP, delete this thread. This is ****ing stupid. ST general would have honestly been a better place to ask this question. Why would you come into the fitness forum for this?

True. Not your fault. Didn't mean to sound harsh.

But the kid doesn't need a prescription painkiller to deal with a sinus headache.

But it's just that a wet towel wouldn't do much for a big gash either, unless you applied pressure, in which case it doesn't matter whether it's wet or dry.

Woah there. Calm down roid rage. I just asked for a non blood thinning pain reliever. Thought this would be the most suitable place to ask since we don't have a general health forum, and I thought someone would know. It's not like I asked you to diagnose me or some ****.

But my bad, I forgot st:f was mostly full of *******s.

Call your doctor and ask what works best.

AFAIK, acetaminophen (Tylenol) doesn't have any blood thinning effects

I'm sorry, apparently I also forgot it takes a medical professional to know this.

Well anyway --- You are going to the MD today so probably doesn't matter but in response to this guy... seriously? advil = ibuprofen = will thin your blood.

The correct answer as said before was tylenol (acetaminophen) period.

Unless you have prescription medications sitting around your house.
