they are a stacked tube blowback. solid markers, they have 2 minor flaws that are easily taken care of.

1) DO NOT DRY FIRE A RAPTOR. The valve is brass, and will quickly mushroom into an unusable mess.

2) they have been known to chop unless a minor mod is done. If you are rapid firing your Raptor and haven't installed the anti-double feed mod, expect ro chop once or twice a hopper. The mod costs a few cents.

They are a solid performer, but there are no easily obtained upgrades except barrels.

no they are raptor threads, unless you have a handy dandy converter.

Not spyder threaded. They basically have their own unique thread (technically shared with the old F1 Illustrator, but that's quite the antique).

The mod I always do on Raptors is to make a new rear hammer bumper. The stock bumper is on the top tube. Since the re-cock force comes from the bottom tube that puts a lot of stress on the linkage pin that connects the bolt to the hammer. A small piece of rubber hose over the main spring fixes the problem nicely. I believe it's 1/2" outer diameter for the hose (been a while since I built one up).

if you do the anti-double feed mod furbaris mentioned, no it will almost never chop. max BPS you can expect is 8-10 as it's pure mech.
