Clamping feedneck, on/off asa, get rid of the steel hose and get a macro line,
BWING bolt and another barrel those are the usefull upgrades

14in barrel, feedneck, a better trigger if you play semi but above all else use HIGH END paint... then go have fun! Maybe TechT bolt if you really want to but get it used, not worth $80. I'd say skip on the Bwing bolt, $100 is just too steep.

Dye UL barrel dye air port feed neck works fine for me billy wing bolt then drop the dwell. A few numbers below 40 and you should be good to go enjoy.

I would get a trigger and a 14" barrel, and call it a day. You don't need to replace the feedneck unless yours breaks, and changing ASAs would only be a convenience thing, same with the macroline.

Barrel kit only. Pouring money into a Rail is like souping up a Civic - for the money spent you could've bought a better gun to begin with . A good set of barrels will give you real world accuracy and efficiency gains (the stock Proto barrel is unimpressive), and can be transferred to any AC threaded gun you upgrade to. If it were my $$, I'd save up, sell the Rail when I'm ready to upgrade, and buy a nice mid or luxury range marker down the line.

Agree 100%

Don't get into the rail for more than it's worth. Don't get me wrong, you get a lot for the $250 that you spent (if you bought it new). Get a nice Autococker threaded barrel kit and call it a day. This barrel kit will fit most anything you may decide to upgrade to later on down the road. The rail will get you by just fine as it is. It's smooth, quiet, and accurate as is. And can be set to fire any mode that the higher end guns do.

as most of the people have said yes the marker isn't going to perform like higher end markers and thats why its geared towards beginning/intermediate players. I picked one up for an extra marker for anyone who wanted to try paintball for the first time. It did wonders with just changing out the steel braided hose with a macroline kit. This allows you to continue to use the ASA and not pay around $30 for a different ASA. As for the feedneck the great thing is the only plastic part of the feedneck is just the collar of the feedneck. You can purchase a new collar or used one for super cheap any dm/pm feedneck collar will work. The only other upgrade I would suggest would be a upgrade that should last you throughout you playing as a paintballer. A good barrel kit. The barrel threads with all DM/PM along with many other markers is A/C aka Autococker threading. Get a nice barrel kit with multiple bore sizes and you will be able to use it over and over with other markers you get in the future. I personally like dye barrels but CP, Sly,DW, and many others have nice barrel kits. Check out the Barrel Sub-forum for more information in making your choice.

Why? What benefit do you get from using a different bolt?

Honestly, I have a few markers. High end, and low end. Really no difference imo. I'm planning on not wasting my money on expensive markers and buy decent guns like the rail instead. What kind of benefits do you think you are getting by buying a 1400 gun instead? 2 ounces lighter? 300 extra rounds out of an air tank? As the Nfl says...

COME ON MAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!!

Wait 6 years from release of 1400 marker, and buy a essentially new in box one for $200.

I just bought the PMR brand new back in August. I think it works great as is. The people here are right when they say don't put more money into it. The only must have IMO is the clamp feedneck. If you feel like you want a barrel kit then go for it. Thinking about getting the ifit back for the PMR. I already have the a5 kit for my Tippmann X7.

Can you replace just the feedneck ring or do you have to replace the whole thing?

I've got a 2011 rail, upgrades I'd suggest are on/off asa with macroline, and a 12-14in barrel (CP, St!ffi, Sly, and Dye all make great products, Dye's a little pricey though). Apart from that you're putting more money into the thing than it's worth.
