Buying a GEO.

If i buy a geo will it come with a gr2 kit installed or do i have to buy it separate? Also is it worth it to buy a GST kit?

agreed. GST kit has a number of benefits that far outweigh the costs.

It does make it quieter and is supposed to reduce paint breakage but I didn't have breaking issues with the stock bolt. All the same I felt it was a good purchase.

Gst is worth all it costs, it prevents breaking, even if you haven't broke paint yet, you will. It unofficially increases efficiency and shoots great.

^^ But do not expect improved efficiency with the GST. There were basically 2 types of GEOs in the original rollout...those that got good efficiency out of the box and those that did not. The reasons for this were varied, such as the outsourced manufacturer of the back check ball making different sized balls that led to some GEOs not getting good #s. While the GST did help to level out the differences in efficiency GEOs were having (meaning those GEOs with bad #s sometimes saw increases with the GST) it is not meant to be an efficiency improvement upgrade and should not be expected to do so. It definitely MAY help your GEO get better #s but dont expect it to.

How do you know if you got one of those Geos or not?

Well, more if your efficiency is very poor to begin with; if your back check ball is less than 4.00mm in diameter; if the hole behind the two o-rings on your can is larger than a pin hole.

^^ right. If you are getting poor #s (which I define as under 1000 shots on a 68/4500, but maybe others can chime in with more accurate averages...this is based solely on the GEOs my team has) and you dont have a set of calipers, borrow a pair or pick some up and measure to ensure the back check ball is between 4.0-4.1. Deviations off those #s should be brought to PE's attention.

Similarly, as Uziel mentioned, make sure the pin hole on the GST behind the rear outer oring on the can is just that...a very very small pin hole.

Reduces kick, softer on paint, prevents cycling issues with Reballs, and comes with chamber inserts to lower velocity when using Reballs. What's not to like?

If you use Reballs you'll want it. Even if you never use Reballs, you would probably like it anyway - most Geo owners prefer the ST kit over the stock bolt kit.

if you already have a Geo the ST bolt is definitely worth it. if you're just thinking about getting a Geo then i would suggest you wait til the Geo plus comes out. it will have the ST bolt standard. i think its being released at Phoenix PSP.
