I just got my first pump marker and yes I am one of those guys that shoots electros.. this is one of the reason why I purchase a pump, is to develop that certain skills that some players don't have. but don't put electros down if one of those guys also use to shoot pump and plays with electro that's a different story.

At home, I never have the opportunity to play pump vs semi games as I'm the only one who plays pump for miles. But I've been to a couple of fields out of state where they have pump vs semi games. I enjoy it a lot.

I've maybe played against another pump player 3 times in the last 12 years, lol.

Around here, it's mighty lonely in the pump department.

As to the topic of difficulty - I actually have a much easier time against speedball players on speedball fields than I do pumping in the woods. The reason being, in the woods, there are far more factors that can cause you to miss. On a speedball field, you either miss the player, hit their bunker, or miss both.

In speedball, I don't really consider pump guns to be that much of a disadvantage - especially if you have a few semis closing down lanes and putting people in. Whether I use a pump or one of my semis, I don't shoot that much paint as a front player. The big difference is that with my semis I am just as good at snapshooting, only there are 5-6 balls in the air rather than one.

It all comes down to which team/individuals are better players, regardless of the guns they're carrying.

the only dissadvantage of pump that i have found is when playing in the woods in the deep underbrush. you cant just unload and hope one ball makes it through

well, you have the advantage of being able to move when they have to reload.

in my experience, whenever i have a problem getting pinned by those kinds of guys, it's the ones with half a case of paint and an A-5 RT who load, dump a hopper, and reload. i'm sure that's a pretty narrow view, but that's the only time i've had much issue of being at a disadvantage in the woods. other than that, you're so far away that you can dodge or catch paint.

If they know what they're doing, they'll reload when they can, and not when they have to (when their hopper is empty).

I cannot play semi worth a crap. People let themselves hang out further and be over all sloppy when I pull out semi for a game or two.

Once I get my pump then even pinky toes start getting tucked in.

It's just a different feel and I'm spoiled with such a small set up. Only rarely do I feel frustrated at not having a semi in certain situations.

I got run down at the same time by 2 guys last weekend (1 v 3) and as I shot one the other came into view and I couldn't get him in time. With a semi, it'd have happened for sure just because of hosing paint in the air.

Just a learning experience. I prefer pump

Nope, I will have to check it out. I usually play at a small place in Puyallup (called Mikes Paintball now, used to be splatt attack). Used to play at KCs (bonney lake) Aces High (Kapowsin?) Splatt Attack (federal way) and once tried a place between gig harbor and bremerton but usually don't cross the bridge.

TY for the heads up.

i feel the most intimidated when im playing a pump player rather than an electro. Im usually up against semi players who stick out for longer periods of time which gives me lots of chances for me to gog the player where as pump players are always snap shooting as well as i am. It becomes a competition of deadly accuracy when it becomes a pump vs pump. Although you may feel that you are "outgunned" its the fact that pump players always snap shoot that makes it so hard for semi's to go against pump players. Now there are times when ive been up against pro pump players who use semis and they are just incredible beacause they use the mechanics of pump play into semi and its just ridiculous. A pump player to me is far more daunting than a semi will ever be. But also consider the fact that many pump players play pump as a sort of fad but most of pump players are good and experienced.

Snap shooting is your best friend and it is why many pump players can out skill at least where i have played. I played at hollywood sports and i loved playing scenario from time to time with zack and angel who were very infuential to me as a pump player. They were just beasts with phantoms and carter

Just for the record, hollywood sports field paint sucks ***. Fps fluctuations and swerving balls. Just bad. bad bad bad. **** field paint

I came up in the golden age of pumps, the late 80's and early 90's. We learned how to shoot accurately, keep our paint topped off, change 12 grams quickly and use coordinated movements to our advantage. All that being said, you do not want to meet me in the woods when I am rolling with my ego 08 if all you have is a pump. My rig is light, accurate and presents a small target. Pumps and the players who shoot them have zero advantage against good players who shoot semi's. And yes, I still have a pump but can't honestly find a good reason to use it on a regular basis.

I was playing a decent team at my local field with a bunch of scrubs and 11 year olds on my team... =(
i move up dorito side (the one with the teams coaches/family and friends) and get in a snap shot battle with their dirrito play
2 pumps later GOGGED.
everyone on the sidelines and people watchg=ing the game went crazy and all congradulated me. (he was one of their best players)
sadly though i was shortly taken out because my entire team was killed as i moved up to the 40.
sory about grammer/punctuation/spelling
Im on vicodin atm because i just had a root canal yesterday!!!
