Geo w/ GST kit max fps 200

Hello folks,

I`ve installed in my Geo the GST kit, but when I shoot the maximum fps that i got is 200. The In-line Regulator is all turned to the + side and the volume chamber also.
My In-line Reg spring is for HP and I'm using a Guerrilla Air 68/4500 with Myth G1.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Did you put in the volume restrictors when you installed the st kit? If so, take them out and readjust your reg so you don't overpressurize the gun..

From what I've read, it could also be a problem with using the Mid pressure Myth reg....if it isn't the problem above, try also a tank with an HP reg.

the Myth is a mid-output pressure that generally is in the 650psi range. The GEO was meant for HP, and thus the inline pressure needed for proper function (on the stock HP spring) is approx 800 psi. Get an HP tank reg and that should solve your problem, and will make your gun shoot much better overall.

Also, your dwell will need to be raised from the stock 12.5 when using the GST. at a minimum, your dwell should be set at 13.5 until the GST breaks in. But if you are still not getting proper velocity at 13.5, raise it to 14, or even 14.5 and see how you fare.

Most likely an issue caused by the Myth reg. An alternative to a new reg or HP internals for the Myth, you could get the LP spring for the Geo inline reg.

There are a few other things that you could look in to.

Backing out the VVC screw and increasing dwell may assist with maximising your velocity.
If you are shooting very small paint, a better bore fit may help.
Make sure that your solenoid's back check ball is clean and undamaged, and that it isn't less than 4.00mm in diameter.
The pin hole in your bolt can should be tiny - if you have an obvious drilled hole, it may be too large.

The G-R2 Propshaft was a little shorter than the original, but that shouldn't really effect velocity; the change was actually made to help prevent ball breakage - when the ball was held further from the face of the bolt, the bolt could pick up too much speed before it came in to contact with the ball, and the ball could be damaged.

Can almost garauntee its the Myth, I had the same problem where I couldn't get it above 240 using a Myth mid pressure on the gun stock. Got the LP spring for the geo and works great Well minus the ping, then got the Myth 2 and it still pings haha, replaced the spring and still pings! Good ol GA

Pretty sure pinging was the spring not the bottle. That's what I read from a GA rep.

Anyways I would try using a HP tank and if you still have problems then it isn't your tank output.

Try the G2 Myth, i got through loads and no pings, also dont bother replacing stuff on your gun just buy the high pressure spring from GA it puts out 850-900.

Just FYI, I have done tests on 2 M2 regs and neither was over 750psi output. And after 2 shots the psi is below 700 and very slow to recharge back to the level the GEO needs to operate at peak performance. It will work with the GEO, but you will not get the performance the GEO is capable of. Of all the regs I have tested thus far the DXS HP reg is the fastest, most consistent recharge. Have not yet tested a ninja reg though...looking to pick one up here shortly.

leave the gun alone, take out one of the restrictors your velocity will raise up to 260 ish with reg screw in middle of travel. adjust velocity from there.

-no restrictors= consistant velocity,med effciency
-1 restrictor= consistant velocity,very good effciency
-2 restrictors= 230 fps max no matter what you do.if you crank your velocity up you will blow the solenoid as there is no lp reg in the gun like an Ego does.

have used a crossfire lp and hp tank on mine. no diffference.shoots fine

No one should be using the restrictors for normal play. They are for reball and night play only where you need to have lower velocity.

They can be used anytime you want, they increase efficiency. They aren't intended completely for normal play, but help.

While the restrictors could be used in the same way as "top-hat" mod for a DM/PM, this is not what they are intended for. As has been stated, they are intended purely for reducing velocity, nothing else.

If you can chrono your Geo up to velocity without the restrictor, drop it in, and still get the same velocity - sort of like dwell tuning, but physically limiting the amount of aire used per shot, rather than electronically limiting the length of time that the valve is open - then it's all good. If on the other hand you are losing velocity, and having to compensate by increasing the inline reg pressure, then you may be on the verge of sending too much pressure to the solenoid.
