ummmm. . . there is no definitive answer to this. you can go about it a few ways but no matter what its always dependent on size of job, people involved, amount of equipment, shots needed and their complexity, how much editing is involved, and how much you think your time is worth.

No one can answer this question besides yourself. plus if your just starting your not going be worth as much as someone who has been around for a while.

I would look at websites for established photographers in your area and see what they charge. Once you set a price point it can be difficult to go higher than that.

I think most wedding photographers have one up front cost and then extra for prints/cds ect. As far as exact numbers I have no idea.

I dont think thats necessarily true. This is his first job, he shouldn't be charging the same rate that he would a year from now. Like Cash said you need to look at what your photos are going to be used for, how much time it will take you, the cost of gas to drive, as well as any processing it might take.

Charge what you think your job is going to be at the end of the edit. Then again editing should only be minimal. Don't ask around for prices of other photogs, remember this is your first gig. Think of what you can handle and what your equipment is capable of. Go from there.
