ipod help??? won't restore or sync.

hi. i switched to another computer and my ipod wouldn't sync with the other one and needed to be restored. so i got the latest firmware and started restoring my ipod. when itunes prompts me to name the ipod, it freezes when i click done. and if i remove it, it makes some weird comment about restoring...

(i am running windows 7 with a 2nd gen touch on the latest firmware)

ok, whenever i remove the ipod from the usb port, itunes will display a message that my ipod could not be written to.

could this be a problem with my cables or the computer???

Seeing as the touch is flash based i doubt that that is it, also have you tried restoring it while it is in DFU mode?

wow.... that was weird.

i got it working. i didn't do dfu mode.

i did a combination of fixing error 6999 and error 49.
i also unchecked all my songs and set my ipod to restore from backup (there wasn't one). it of course didn't read the backup, but once that happened i set it to sync all songs (from the summary menu) and i have my music back. YAY!!!!

thanks for the help everybody.
