I have a prototype geo as well. Shoots just as good as any other geo. St kit works on it. No difference beyond what i can see.

I think i've seen one of these before, the seller mentioned that it still had EGO engraved on the frame... not GEO

Will you be getting it with the GR-2 kit installed? I would inquire about that of course.

There are small differences between the two, if only because a marker made in small numbers is going to be produced on different machines than one that is mass produced, so you might have slightly different dimensions, different tolerances etc.

Suffice to say that there are no functional differences between the two, and no obvious structural differences - having said that, both the Geos I have (a normal Geo and an SL91) are pre-production/prototype models, so I haven't actually got a production line Geo to make a direct comparison - but I'm not aware of any major differences.

I have been informed that theoretically, somewhere down the line, parts might be made that - due to the difference in size/tolerance - may fit the production marker but not work properly in the pre-production test markers, but as of yet this has not been an issue. I've had the original bolt kit, a modified Propshaft to help prevent paint breakage, the G-R2 kit, a soft tip bolt (came with the SL91) and the ST kit, and they have all worked without problems.

slightly off topic but is the soft tip bolt for the SL91 the same as G-ST kits bolt face? If not could you post a pic?

No. It is an open faced tip.

No, they are different bolts - ST in terms of the Geo ST Kit stands for "Soft Touch", which has a ported face, whereas the Soft Tip bolt has..... well..... a soft tip!

Why do these types of requests always pop up after midnight, when I have no natural light to play with? So, slightly naff lighting, but I'm sure you get the general idea: -

Soft Touch (ST Kit) bolt on the left, soft tip bolt on the right.

I have been using the ST bolt rather than the soft tip - after all, when Planet were deciding which of these bolts to release, the ST won over the soft tip.

I also need to give the soft tip a bit of a polish before i use it, as it has some small scratches and scuffing that I would like to get rid of before I try it out.

The soft tip bolt is a prototype, designed to fix the exact same issues as the ST Kit, but whereas the ST went in to full production, the soft tip didn't.
