Vanguard Creed Question

I just recently got a Creed via trade. Gun seems to shoot fine. When taking the gun apart I noticed something odd that I don't see in any of the diagrams. On the front of the poppet, there is an o-ring. Also, on the back of very back of the LPR assembly there is another o-ring. I don't see them on any o-ring chart or breakdown diagram. My only thought is that the o-rings were added on either side of the spring to increase the LPR pressure and increase velocity. Anyone know why these are there and/or if they are necessary.

Here is a diagram with the two spots of the o-rings pointed out in red.

Thanks!

I'm guessing here but it's probably something to do with the difference between the v1 and v2. Maybe the company never changed the manual.(that's my guess)

That's it. The V1 had an all delrin poppet, which was swapped out with the metal LP poppet later on. The metal ones can be rebuilt by replacing that oring, which is kind of nice.

The extra oring was added as extra insurance against high pressure air bypassing the LPR. That's My guess.

I took some actual pics as my diagram was pretty terrible.

The two white sticks are pointing at the o-rings I am referring to.

MstrKey, I think you are referring to this o-ring as the rebuildable one.

Currently in the gun it looks like this...

Meaning those 2 o-rings are adding extra tension on the spring which would increase the LPR pressure (which might be causing that valve body wear I was telling you about, MstrKey)

I would think it should look like this (no o-rings)...

Thoughts?

Hmmm I was thinking of two different orings. I've never seen those ones before. I'm not sure why they would be on there. Maybe the previous owner thought they were supposed to be on there? Who knows. Take them off.

Yeah them seemed out of place. I would assume if they had wanted an o-ring there, there would be a notch or something.

Take them off, some idiot who sold them to you put them on there. Ive had 2 v2 creeds. I miss my old one Changes/mods like this, is what ruins the quality and reliability of the creeds. Bullet proof markers if you dont over pressure the noid

If anyone else has those orings take them off. They're going to increase the tension on your valve spring which will cause problems. Eeesh.
