Creed still won't turn on........new battery doesn't help.

Has anyone found a solution to the battery not charging and gun not turning on problem? Something that actually works? lol.

Gun won't turn on unless I plug it into the charger. If I do that I can access all the menus just fine. Eyes work BUT noid won't click. If I unplug it from the charger power goes out and it won't come on again unless I use the charger. REset button doesn't help. Plugging the battery in after the charger doesn't help........nothing seems to help.

Oh if I leave it plugged on the charger about 10 minutes it just shuts off totally.

Made some progress today. Instead of the charger, I plugged it into my computer's USB port THEN attached the battey to the board and at least it now shows the battery low logo. Before it always said the battery was at full when I know for a fact it wasn't. Now to wait and see if it will charge. Every time my hard drive spins the screen on the gun flashes lol

EDIT: Not charging. Interestingly enough, if I use the USB port the battery status says 10% charging. If I use the wall charger the battery status is 10% Fast charge. It can understand the voltage difference, but it still doesn't charge. :/ Whether the battery logo is full or showing depleted it still doesn't charge. There must be a serious problem in the coding on these boards lol.

Vanguard claimed it would take about 6 hours to charge it via a USB port. To me it sounds like your battery is no good. I'll take one of my Creeds apart tonight and see if I can find something that would work for you.

I think so too. Both of them are puffy which usually means toast. I just find it weird the board reads 10% on both of them. I wonder if some RC batteries of the same specs would work in their place? Any help would be appreciated. I'd love to get this thing going again.

These size out to the same dimensions, and is the exact voltage and mAh:

http://www.tinydeal.com/3-7V-20C-600...-p-132007.html

You'll probably have to change the leads, just don't short them out.

I'm going to pick some up for myself, too. Just in case my batteries go bad.

Funny you posted that up......I ordered the same ones on ebay just before reading this. I may be able to pop the wires out of the male end on these plugs and pop them right into the other white male ends of the stock battery. If not I can solder them easy enough. They're so cheap it's worth a shot.

I suspect the batteries are my problem and that the board and noid will be fine. The gun only ever had about 3000 shots on it.....it's pristine.

I ordered a few, too. I figured they were cheap enough and I should be able to get them to work.

Just be careful not to short the battery, especially with a LiPo.

Will do! I remember reading that a long slow charge is better for lipoly? Is that true?

Good job on sourcing the batteries!! I found some that I want to try as a replacement on Amazon... They are tiny 3.7v lipos the may are slightly lower but I can actually fit two in the space that the stock battery is...

There are tons of them out there. The ones I ordered are pretty close to the same size.......assuming they were measured accurately. If I have to I'll make some modifications to make them fit. May as well since original vanguard batteries are not going to be an option for long. I just hope they work.

Supposedly it's better to slow charge them, as rapid charging is supposed to change the lipo's composition sooner. But so far I've only had 1 unchargeable Creed battery pack. So I'll use the rapid charger.

Besides, I'm not sure I want to hang out for 6 hours watching the marker charge.

Well I got my batteries in. Did a quick solder and voila! They seem to work......sort of. My board now says the battery is 64% but it's still locked in charging mode, even when not on the charger. So I think my board is messed up. Noid still won't fire either and a bad board could cause both of those problems obviously. NO clue how the board broke.....the gun worked fine and was put away for years unused. I think when the batteries are left in the gun and they die, it causes problems.

Royalty has them..........I sent Nick a message. Kind of a bummer but there isn't much else I can do at this point. Resetting doesn't work........the charger trick doesn't work, nothing works.

I assume you've done the 'leave the battery disconnected from the board for 24-48 hours' trick, too. Did you ever get any paint or liquid on the board that you know of?

I've done that too. The batteries have been disconnected for weeks at a time. No difference. It's just locked in charging mode for some reason. Sometimes I can get it out of charging mode, but then it won't work at all. It's annoying lol.

Update.........now it will turn on normally, noid won't fire and battery status says charging. when I turn it off it goes into charge mode.

Sounds like somethings wrong with it, for sure. Let me know if you have any luck locating a board. Now I'm wishing I picked up a spare or two myself.

Royalty sold their stock out to another guy, I guess Rick is moving. Armory Paintball, but all the parts are in transition and not on the page yet.......ugh. I'm ready to just sell this thing lol. Or find a way to slap another board in. The old virtue LED boards for the dye and PE guns look like they're a close fit. Less buttons but as long as two of them line up who cares. The screw holes may be a problem though.

The problem I have is that the Creed is such a good shooter it is a shame there is no factory support for it any more. And that is a shame.

My Infamy Creed is one of my go to guns. I'll bring it with me because I know if the other markers I brought with me are giving me any trouble, I can fire up the Creed and it will work perfect all day long.
