I'm working tomorrow and Saturday morning so I'll probably be back out there Saturday evening and Sunday morning if I don't have success on Saturday.

Pulled the trigger and she ran about 30 yards and went down.

My uncle estimated around 125. He's hunted for a long time and it may have been the biggest doe he's seen.
But typically, they aren't real big around here. My brother in law did shoot a nice 14 pt two years ago.

The biggest thing i do:
Dont call to woodies... It doesnt sound natural like when a mallard hail calls to a group of birds circling

Was at parents house today and saw some of the biggest squirrels I've ever seen out there in over 15 years. Wish I still had my SuperNova

I prefer to work out alone. It enables me to concentrate on the lessons that the Iron has for me. Learning about what you're made of is always time well spent, and I have found no better teacher. The Iron had taught me how to live. Life is capable of driving you out of your mind. The way it all comes down these days, it's some kind of miracle if you're not insane. People have become separated from their bodies. They are no longer whole.

I just got back home last night about 11pm from spending a week at my uncle's house near Louisville. The first time we hunted after I got there (Tuesday evening), we just saw a couple of does. On Wednesday morning, I shot this six pointer at 154 yards. We were sitting about 30 feet back in the woods looking across a field when this one, another buck, and about five does came out. They stayed out there forever and I finally got a shot at this one as he was running back toward the treeline because he stopped broadside (I don't know if he saw me move or what but he was looking in our direction). He ran a few hundred yards and I found him in a pond near the back edge of the property. Weighed 166 when I took him to the taxidermist; I decided to get a full shoulder mount because he was the first buck I ever shot.
My roommate's birthday is coming up, I figured I'd break out a good size piece of tenderloin and cook it. Probably gonna do some duck hunting that week too since he took off work to give himself eight days in a row off. Might see if I can't shoot another deer or two down here as well... can't wait to make some jerky now.

Saw a monster buck this afternoon, didn't get a shot as he was running and with all the snow piled in the trees I could only see about 60 yards from where I was....
