Im looking to build a hog gun. Pretty much all my shots would be taken under 150 yards. Need something that will be easy to recover.

I have an AR15. And I saw a coyote run across the road today. That's a good sign. There should be boat loads of coyotes around our place. It seems like I would see one within a few miles every day for a week just driving down the highway. Am strongly considering investing in a foxpro as well.

I want to experiment with tanning the hides and what not on them if it isn't to expensive. Make a nice rug or something out of it. Get like 15 of them goobers and make a blanket lol. Would that even be possible? I don't see why not if you just sewed them all together.
Would probably be kind of creepy and a lot of work but hey, why not?

Bought some duck decoys. Went with the Flambeau Storm Front decoys. I've heard they're pretty good for the money and I'm on a budget. I won't be out there everyday. Would be satisfied if I get to go 2-3 times a week. I've been before but this will be my first year to be serious about it. Any tips? I'll mainly be hunting small ponds on private land. The main pond that I'm looking forward too seemed like it had ducks almost every time I looked or drove by it. There wasn't a whole lot but 5-15.
I'm actually going out there tomorrow and will try to take some pictures. It's not very big. Probably 100 yards x 40 yards but the layout is nice. The front part is nice and shallow(actually dirt right now but we're starting to get rain again) and there are a few trees around the outside towards the back which is deeper.

my tips for ducks:
stay hidden well
call for reactions, leave the competition routine at home...
make the decoys as real as possible (match the decoys to the way the ducks are spread out on the pond)
decoy movement is pretty big so if you can get a jerk rig with about 4 decoys on it that would be great
check your waders for leaks
if you have a mojo decoy, use it
watch where you step... usually farm ponds are firm ground on the rim of the lake but it gets deeeeeep mud once your in a couple feet and you just sink
also, i like to let the birds land in the decoys sometimes
to me that is part of the sport of waterfowling which is to fool the birds into thinking the decoys are real plus its an easy shot
edit: if you are going to use the butt up feeder decoys, place them in spots where the water is only about a foot deep... the birds that have been using the pond know how deep the pond is in the spots they go to and a mallard will generally only go "butt up" to feed in places about a foot or so deep

Plan on getting a jerk rig but how do I set it up? Do I throw a few more weights on it so it start moving and pulling towards my direction? And what's the best technique to using them?
Right now my main concern is water.
Here's two ponds we have. Last year it had a lot more water but we just haven't had much rain...
First pond is smaller but my dad has seen it filled up ducks before.
Second pond is the larger one but it's not very deep as you can see and it needs water badly.

^ This is where the majority of the ducks would be last year that I saw.

Your main concern before setting up a decoy rig should be how am i going to hide myself and where will i hide myself...

I'm not worried about that. I doubt I'll be hunting the first pond and I plan on building a small blind and putting it next to or maybe up and under one of those trees. There are also a few other trees that would work that aren't pictured. I'll just have to see about visibility.

Honestly, if you hunted the first pond id just use a layout blind and stub it up like crazy.

I can't wait for October 1st! Going to be my first time hunting whitetail with a bow. I saw a nice eight pointer tonight on my place.
I want to get some better arrows, does anyone have any suggestions? I only need 4-6 but don't want to spend more than $50.
