^ That. Or you can try to do it yourself with spray paint which I wouldn't do. Or wrap it in tape if you don't want to waste money

I'm just going to throw this out there for you.
Scenario paintball isn't about the color of your gear. A blue marker isn't going to be what get's you shot out. Use what you have, save the money you would spend on Anno (probably about $125 or less for a solid color from a good company to answer your question) and get some good radio's for you and your friends. Successful scenario isn't about hiding in the woods. It's more about owning the people hiding in the woods.

Dont paint your gun, after one day of playing with it, it will be chipped and scratched and look awful. You can get a one color anodizing for about $100 if you look around. Or you can just leave it blue

I have played 30 games with a nickle plated autococker. It doesn't matter. Don't ruin a perfectly good gun.

Yeah......Don't mess with it.

We have all different color egos, we wear paintball pants and jerseys and colored masks too!

It doesn't matter. Scenario players don't always wear camo. Just come out and have a good time!

Dont worry about the color. I have all kinds of bright colored markers I play scenario with.

If they can see you, you can see them. Camo doesnt help too much when something is moving anyway.

The problem wouldnt be the open bolt design, but the electronics. Its going to be hard to use an electro in the rain, but some wishful thinking may help.

I saw some guys put a bag over their setups and zip-tie the ends to ensure the seal. It wouldnt be a sure way to keep things dry, but it should help. I suggest you pick up a cheap mech that you like as well, just in case.

I would LOVE to have an ego myself and its on my to buy list lol.

lose your dm5 and go ego 5 or 6 i love 7's but couldnt afford one. and the 05 just feels liek a freakin tank!
imo they should make a cover that slides over the bolt and has clamos with rubber tips to grip the frame and cover the bolt area. hate how no one thinks like me lmao

At a large scenario, stealth is a mute point. Use what ya have, mow some people down that way. Being a skilled gunfighter definatly helps.

listen to the Obvious (hey Cpt...) it doesn't matter, I play with a purple and black emag. played with it in the rain as well. the type and color of your marker doesn't matter bro, just go have fun.

? He has an Ego5

I used an Ego6 for years and never had any trouble with it in the rain. Unless you go swimming with them, most electros are plenty hardy in the elements. Only marker I ever had lots of problems with was my Tippmann A5. Thing broke something every time I went out.

given your situation, if you REALLY want woods colors, go get yourself some camo gun wrap. the investment of anodizing a gun is not worth it unless you are doing it yourself, or the aluminum is raw. otherwise you are paying a lot of money for a relatively minor service that is not going to be made back when you sell.

If you paint it, i hope someone gets a nut shot in on you ;-)

there is nothing wrong with wearing normal tourny gear in the woods, its all paintball. i myself have always played in marine woodland camo pants and camo jerseys, regardless of where i play.

a good mechanical marker is a must for those nasty days. by good, i mean reliable: tippys, bt's, automags, etc. something that won't require downtime because you haven't shot it in a while.

I know a lot of people who use egos for scenario. They have a good reputation, because egos are high performance, very durable, and easy to take care of. I've heard of guys taking is out in the rain without any sort of protection and having it work fine all day.

As for colors, don't mess with your marker. And for your clothing, I've seen people play in all kinds of clothing with success. From personal experience, though, I'd try to wear some muted colors, if nothing else then just a shirt. Brown, black, gray, tan, dark green are best, dark blue, black, and any other dark or dull color can be good, too. It won't make you invisible by any means, but it'll make it harder for your opponents to pick you out, especially if you're behind some scrub, and to see where your form ends and the space behind you begins.

From my experience the gun color really doesn't make you stand out, a blue jersey maybe or white mask but the gun i don't think so as much.

If your still reading this thread, and you want to woods up your ego5, I'll recommend Dura-coat paint. I painted my mini 3 years ago and have played pretty down and dirty with it, no scratches. I recommend this paint because it is firearms grade paint that bonds to the metal and has flex under pressure. Unlike other enamels, Dura-coat isnít brittle and will not chip or crack. The only ware and tear Iíve had with the finish is with my freak barrel back when I put a barrel shroud on it and the bolts cut into the paint and metal. That was my fault and itís totally understandable. Even a good anodizing job would mar under that pressure. If you do go this path, be ready to drop $100 to $150 for paint and air brush supplies. You ABSOLUTLY NEED TO APPLY DURA-COAT WITH AN AIR BRUSH!!!! Otherwise you get blotchy spotty coating which will lead to an ugly gun and lumps. Also you need to take your time with this project. Dura-coat takes time to set and fully bond with the metal. It takes almost a full week for it to cure and be ready for play. It dries fully with in 24 hours and you can reassemble your marker to show off. Like I said, donít rush the job and you will be amazed with the results. Iím with everyone else who says you donít need to change the color of your marker for scenario, but Iím a modder at heart and always looking for ways to make my gear stick out. Iíll modify a TPX next with a sight rail and Iím sending out the barrel for freak kit boring. Iíll be using Dura-coat or plastic Krylon to camo it up and maybe a little stippling to improve the grip.
