My favorite year would have to be the 08 and 11. The 08's are going for around 350 to 400 depending on the condition of the marker. The 11's ate from 600 to 800 depending on if its a limited marker or not. And the maintance is very simple and they are built to last

I just came back to the sport this year, after a 10 year break. My last gun was an Angel LCD. I bought an Ego 8 at the beginning of last summer and I love it. Maintenance is a breeze and so is assembly/disassembly. At this point they are an amazing deal if you can find one in decent shape. A few hundred bucks will get you an awesome tournament level gun without having to spend $1000+

You will not be going wrong with any Ego/Geo. I do love the 07/08, but right now I would go with an 11.

07/08 is the best bang for your buck. But the 11 is going to drop with the anticipation of the people that need to always have new stuff. So depending on your price range and how much you're looking to invest. Those would be my choice. (2007/2008/2011)

Ego would be great if you just want a gun that works, and you don't need to be taking care of so often. They are simple, and easy to tech/work on.

Like everyone said I'd reccomend an 08, but if you can spend more, the Ego10's are good, and a litle more on top of that and the Ego11 is a great option.
