Pump Questions

Okay so after playing the osc this last weekend I have caught the bug to play pump. So after thinking about it I am gonna build my own pump. I want to build a lightweight sniper. So i have a few questions. I am willing to spend roughly about 300. Less would be better though.
1. Whats the lightest body I could find on a budget?
2. Whats the cheapest Auto trigger setup?
3. What price should i look into spending on a slide trigger and which is the best brand, if i don't take the whole ccm autotrigger route?

Any other input you might have is also appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Spaz.

If you've already got a cocker threaded barrel or barrel kit...I would seriously consider a CCM autotrigger kit (~$200) and a body of your choice.

Except...I guess you would still need a reg which would put you over budget...

You might be able to do a body with internals and a reg for under $100.

I will say this, the CCM setup is very nice and it's all made to work together.

Just my 0.02

it really depends.

it seems that lightweight is something that you pay for, and so the lighter the body, the more expensive. shocktech sfl's are rare and light and super expensive. the T2 is a great combo setup but runs out of the "inexpensive" line as well as the S6's

if you are willing to work for it, find a full bodied autococker of your choice and have it half-blocked.

but as far as regular bodies go, i would suggest a pro-stock as one of the lighter old wgp bodies.

when cockers were made, light weight wasnt that big of an issue. there arent too many bodies out there that most people would concider light

you can also look into open class phantoms, you wont get a much lighter open class gun then that

You can get a halfblock with internals and the bolt pin sled for around $100-150. Just make sure it has a removable feedneck so you can put a clamping feedneck on it.

1. Cocker bodies aren't really that light... any of them. WGP mechanicals and pumps are very old technology, back then weight wasn't something people complained about much. lol. I'd look at a 2k vert body (simple, plain, and looks solid). Or look at halfblocked bodies or midblocked bodies. The lightest pump body i've held was a halfblocked superbolt that had been midgeted.

2. As for AT, i may suggest reconsidering. AT isn't for everyone, and it can be a pain for those who don't know much about snipers. If your new to cockers, i'd say just go without AT for right now, until you believe it's required to compete. I personally dislike AT, only because it reminds me of playing semi-auto (style wise).

3. You could pick up a nice benchmark on ebay for $50ish with all the guts in place. CCM trigger frames are pure awesomeness. Comfy, balanced, and light weight. Although it isn't necessary, you would love a CCM frame. I shoot snipers with sliders and CCM Frames, and i have to say i don't have a preference right now. But check ebay for sure

That should work out just great. My first pump was an Orracle with a CCM kit.

And if you want to A/T it, buy the GAT Products Autotrigger, which is made for slider frames. A little mod to the frame and you're set

Non-halblocked autococker bodies don't get much lighter or cheaper than the Psychoballistics Superbolt. It's a copy of the DYE Ultralight and in addition to being mini-length it has a large amount of metal milled from it.
The problem is that with a mini-length gun you end up paying for it by having to buy a mini-compatible pump kit, which is usually more expensive than standard-length ones, and often much more expensive.

For a great slider frame, check out I&I sports and their 32* frame. With the exception of the oddly-shaped CCM frames, all sliding cocker .45 frames (Even DYE's) are pretty much copies of the frames Benchmark used to make, including the $20 frames I&I is selling. Just keep in mind that if you buy an empty frame you're going to need:
Sear
Sear spring
Sear pin (can be made from a nail)
Trigger plate
Trigger spring (can be taken from a ballpoint pen)
Trigger Shoe
Grip Panels (Any .45 panels from an Ion, Intimidator, or Colt 1911 pistol will work)

If there's an old guy at your field who used to shoot autocockers, ask him if he has an old frame or guts for sale. Most cocker users went to hinge or electronic frames a couple years ago so there's a good chance they'll have a slider frame or some guts lying around that they would be willing to sell or give you.
