A1 barrel on a G7 fly question

I did read where I can put an a1 barrel on my g7 fly, but it cause a small gap. Does this little gap affect anything?

been out of paintball for a while so another question, would a .684 back work fine with a .688 front? because I found a .684 a1 ul back but the only ul tips I can find are .688.
