WTF, wasn't the T1i just released less than a year ago? It's a good body for the price, but I would've rather have seen a 60D first.

Yea, but you gotta think. Soccer-moms are intimidated by xxD's, but they'll wet their panties over a T2i that can take pictures AND movies (zomg).

indeed. as for now, all those numbers are meaningless without someone doing a real hands on. at least we wont have to wait long for it's release so we can see some reviews.

Just glanced at the article, but 18 megapixels seems like a lot for an APS-C sensor.

Canons website says its a CMOS sensor:

I dont know quite what to think yet. The movie capability is very very nice. But then again if you want video that badly to make it a turning point for you, might as well get a camcorder or something of the sort.
That being said, very impressed with the 60fps in 720. and 30 in 1080p. Thats a huge jump from the T1i.
Pretty good body for the price. I would consider picking one up as long as all the good hype stands after some in depth reviews.
We shall see. Im hopeful.

I'm sorry. Im still new to this and realized my stupidity at the fact that its an APS-C CMOS sensor. My bad.

The 7D uses an 18 mp sensor.

From what I've read, its the same sensor as the 7D.

People said the same thing when APS-C sensors hit 10 megapixel.

Hopefully the autofocus will be better than the t1i, on servo it tends to lag behind, unless its just mine =/

nah, the AF on it isn't that great (t1i). I love my t1i but it's just not snappy enough. I can easily tell the difference from that and my 40d.

I didn't check and see if the AF was updated but I doubt it'll be that great given it's a rebel.

The only thing I would want is manual video though there are some tricks to the t1i to make it somewhat that way.

What I don't understand on the t1i is that you can manually see how things will be on the live view mode but it won't let it change it in video mode. bleh

Its the same way with nikon too. It's probably so people who want to use it for video need to buy the more expensive ones.

oh i'm sure that's what it is.

Canon is like, "Hmmm, we could spend like a day updating the firmware for the t1i"

"nah, just come out with a new camera that has it."

I hope they update the 500D's firmware. 1080 at 20p is kinda sad. thought it would make the 550D kinda pointless.

I sold off a ton of gear and I'm looking for a compact body. If only canon would make some pancake primes. mmmmm.

look forward to seeing how the T2i performs
