Yes, it has softened my shoot. Yes, it makes the marker shoot/cycle smoother (which I don’t know how since Luxe’s already shoot smooth as silk anyways).

Rhino
Rhino,
Are the LUXE spring and the Shocker spring exactly the same, or are the compression and tension slightly different? I am assuming that different compressions/tensions would have slightly different affects on the performance of the marker. Certainly the compression/tension of the spring must be low enough for the pneumatics of the gun to over come. However, I am wondering how you arrived at the compression/tension which you have settled for in production and what the results would be with a compression/tension which was slightly to low and/or slightly to high?

Thanks,

you say it will cure FSDO yet in your video one of your first shots you say it has very bad FSDO and it didn't register etc...
......

271-311 fps doesnt sound too appealing either. Think you even said you had a 215 fps shot.

That was after he removed the spring, and up'ing the dwell to 12.

If you lower the dwell to much the consistency will go to hell. With this mod just because you can run a lower dwell doesn't mean you have to. I'd go no lower than 10. You still want to dump the entire chamber every time for maximum consistancy.

Which won't help your efficiency at all. Talk to cs900...he can make you a nice adjustable bolt guide that'll make these guns efficient. You can open the passage ways up later and close them sooner, with fine tuning you'll be able to get a good level of consistency and efficiency.

But the spring mod should do wonders for the people that don't want to fool with oring tolerances too much. It'll allow a lower op pressure and cure their fsdo. I should be hitting you up for polishing on my shocker though, see how it goes with it, then possibly go ahead with it on the luxe.

This statement is true, If your gun does not cycle good at 8ms then up the dwell. Both of my guns dump at 8ms great! Like I said earlier, the better your o-rings slide the lower you can go on your dwell.

Every luxe will have different o-ring tolerances. This is either set up by the factory or by you.

Adjust your settings to what your gun works with.

I can dry fire my guns and find a good dwell. You will start to notice changes in air pressure coming out of the barrel as you up the dwell. At some point the pressure will stop getting harder. That is were I set my dwell at. Works every time for me.

Just to let everyone know that is on my case because I said springs don't last forever, I'm not saying I have no faith in this mod, I'm actually sending out my bolt/guide in about 20 minutes. I'm just saying that ALL materials don't last forever, sooner or later the spring will not perform as well as it would as if it was new, companies don't want to include something that COULD be a problem. I'm not saying it is, just a possibility.

good point.

perhaps request an extra spring / the cost for one ; or the specs on the spring ; i.e. where to get and the type.

I think I'll be sending one of my luxes too to check this out.

Well the springs are from Rhino1XL he has them custom made so the chance that you find them anywhere else is slim or none. I'm not sure what his deal with Pooty is but I'm sure you can get an extra spring from him when you order at a decent cost. I know when I ordered 1 spring from Rhino it was $6 if you order more you get a price cut. PM either one of them and I'm sure you'll get the full details, but I'm sure you would get a better deal if you ordered two from Pooty when you get your mod done.

Did ya all know, that o-rings, solenoids etc etc don't last forever. I would say the spring will last longer then every moving part in your luxe!

I would say some of you have extra o-rings in your gear bag?

If you are so concerned about a spring going bad get an extra one. Just like those extra o-rings you might have..

Problem fixed.

And honestly...6 dollars to ride your gun of fsdo for a year....You'll probably spend more in oring kits looking for the best tolerances. Can't really beat it. I used my spring in my shocker for over a full season of xball and 5 man. They hold up. But if your worried buy one every season. I'm sure rhino wouldn't complain hahaha

Before, I was responding to how someone was complaining because DLX doesn't include this "mod" in the gun, not that this mod won't last.

PS: Parts were shipped.

Gee, the springs will outlast most of the other parts in your gun. Like pooty said, there is a spring in the noid which will last for a million + cycles. No one ever had a problem with the spring in their mag going bad and mfg's don't seem to worry about the springs in the regs wearing out. I won't even get into the springs in your car engine.

This mod is tried and true in the shocker and will work just as well in a Luxe, so everyone stop worrying about it.
