It's a matter of dwell. If I have to crank down the dwell and crank down the HPR, then the consistency is likely to fluctuate a lot.

Gonna wait for an efficiency test. Looks great! Nice job. My shocker spring modded was amazing.

If you lower your dwell and increase your input pressure you get great efficiency. I have never had any troubles with bad fps with a spring. Luxe and shocker.
If you have a problem with lowering your dwell, then keep your dwell at 14 and turn down your fsdo to 0 and have a super dependable luxe still.. You might need to turn down your input pressure then, but that would also help with efficiency gains.
Did you notice in the video that the spring made it shoot hotter the stock!
I did not touch the input pressure at all.
Machining out the back of the bolt and the bolt guide is not going to effect anything.

When I get my parts back, I'll do an efficiency test and post up the vid. Hopefully next week.

So if you decide not to use this mod, you can take out the spring and it will revert back to normal?

I love how the way the Luxe shoots. After this mod, did it kick more or like do anything different to the way the Luxe shoots?

same question did it have any more kick or anything. I really don't mind efficiency to much.

The spring will slow down the rate of fire on the return giving you a smoother shot just like the adjustment manifold does. But the adjustment manifold will help to further fine tune any kick.

Its not going to change the way the gun shoots unless you lower the dwell. When the dwell is lowered you will have to run a slightly higher pressure to get the proper fps. The lower you go on the dwell the better efficiency you will get, but, you will have a less consistent gun. You have to account for electronic errors. A small inconsistency in the noids stroke at such a low dwell is what causes problems. Just ask the shocker owners. Although the luxe isn't a shocker.

Manifold adjustment will be a little more tricky with the spring.

You could do two set ups.
Run a lower dwell and a higher input pressure
Run a stock dwell with a lower input pressure
As seen in the video
See what works best for your gun.

On my shocker with the mod, I had zero kick. Even while dry firing my gun. My gun was on a dwell of 7, and could probably have gone lower.

A spring and a plastic bolt should have came stock in them...it's lame how these great ideas have to come from the customers and not the friggin' company that makes them. Anybody agree?

Springs wear out, how would a company supply you with unlimited springs? Also, if they didn't include springs you wouldn't be very happy to buy new springs every few months would you?
