Been watching the AA's since the 90's. Always going to the IAO every year to watch them play, playing against them out at Bob's farm. And then having Tim, Spesh, and Snack coach my college team.. to see them down for the count. I hope this is just a temp thing. I've always been a fan since I was a boy and wish they will make a come back soon.

This sucks and I'm sorry to hear it, but at least the team went out on a high note. You had a great season in PSP and the All A Heroes won the Liberty Cup in the AXBL and won NAX.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to play against the Heroes last season in the AXBL. It was the best match we had all year. I wish you all the best.

Great write up to break the news, and to provide a bit of history. AA's were never one of my favorite teams. SP was never one of my favorite companies in the industry. That said, I'm still sad to see them go. They were, and had been a podium team for as long as I can remember.

Some words from a former Pro player from Canada, Mike Carey, posted in another forum

It’s a shame, but it could become more common place then you think. Many of the high powered teams are falling on tough times. Even DYE has made major cuts to the IRONMEN, Aftershock once a huge power and player in the Free Agent market has had to use local players to fill out the roster.

When I was lucky enough to play at the PRO level, it was PRO in every sense of the word. I was paid to be there (if I won) and it cost me nothing to play. That is changing; I can’t see a team picking up any player if he/she can’t drive to practice. I would fly 2-3 times per month, just to practice, never mind the events.

I played the AAs many times, in all formats, 5Man, 10Man, 7Man and in the NXL, they are without a doubt an "original 6" team. In paintball it would probably be a few more than 6 (L.O.D/Aftershock, AA’s, Ironmen, Tour de Force, FLA Terminators, Constant Pursuit, Bushwhackers, Master Blasters). Anyway they were cutting edge, (magic box automag, evolution autocockers, n2 before anyone else) I remember like it was yesterday, 1995 watching AAs VS Ironmen in Dallas, 25 minute game, it was ZERO Celsius, and the AAs guns were still ripping. I bought the first n2 tank the second I got home.

The first time I won a NPPL event (there was only the NPPL no PSP till later) with Personal Vendetta in 1996, the Chicago OPEN 5Man. At the awards, Adam Gardner(owner of SP and original AAs member) happened to be standing beside me, I mentioned that all I wanted was the trophy (one as big as me), he laughed at me, told me trophies were cheap, and that anyone could buy one. Just winning the event was all that mattered. He said that I would be lucky to learn this, as you need to win more than once to realize how hard it is to win at all. So 15 years later (and 3 more PRO wins) I realized he was right, I have no idea what we won, just that we did, and that no trophy or prize package was worth the feeling that you get when you win. Course, prizes never hurt!

In today’s time of here today gone later today PRO teams, 20 years is an unreal accomplishment. I am proud of playing PRO paintball for 10 years, 20 is something I could never imagine.

To put this in perspective, for paintball this is the equal of the Detroit Redwings or MTL Canadians folding.
