L7 bolt

so i've heard about the L7 bolt from techt pb and i was wondering if anyone has any specific problems with it.
do i have to use certain detents?
is it harder on paint than a firebolt?
other than the "tricky" installation (from what i read in the reviews section) are there any other concerns with this bolt??

no, you do not have to use special detents, why would you?

it will not be harder on paint then the firebolt either.
the only reason why you would have any chops, is because the dwell could be set too fast (like 8ms)

The bolt installation isn't tricky at all. Sure it's not like the stock or firebolt, but that's because it's entirely different.

no different detents needed. If your detents have significant wear it would be a good idea to change them however no special detents are needed to operate the L7

i have no idea why i thought i needed special detents, I just saw that TechT was selling a package with the bolt, grease, and their own set of detents so i thought i might need special ones

and i watched the installation video, looks easy as pie

thanks for the info guys

do you have a freak?

if you use a freak barel kit you might run into problems with the bolt getting stuck in the smaller inserts.

Not sure what ^^^ are talking about. Had an L7 with Freak and never had a problem with any insert.

As long as you know how to maintain your marker (lube regularly, no CO2, change batteries when low, ect.) you should have no problems.

If this were to happen you'd have alot more serious damage happening.

But this would never happen.

The only insert we know of bolts getting stuck in is the reball insert, but it's not limited to a single bolt.

i think it's a problem with tailless bolts as i've had problems with my hollowpiont as well. and no, as for damage it just takes a bit of the anno off the bolt. the worst part is sometimes you have to loosen the barrel a 1/8 turn to release the bolt and yes it happens when i'm using my reball insert. oh yes, it is also because of the low pressure from shooting in the 240-250 fps range.

I haven't had any problems. Freak barrel with l7v2 bolt. I have kept the same insert in (the blue one) because i remember it pairing up will with the field paint where I play. I have a qev on it and it has never jammed ( i just recently posted about a terrible steady leak but thats another issue in the frame)

it was noticably quieter and more accurate and my firebolt i had previously.

.

It's still ONLY THE REBALL INSERT.

It really has less to do with it being a freak barrel, and more to do with the inner diameter of the back being just slightly smaller than the tip of the bolt.

I'm sure that it being a freak insert has something to do with it though since there.s almost no chamfer on the inside edge of the insert compared to say a UL back.

ok thanks
i watched the installation video on the TechT website and he kept using Gun Sap grease
I know he's using his own product to promote it, but he kept saying "grease" which his Gun Sap looks like
Dow looks more like a "lube" than a "grease"
