custom annos

Who does APS use to get the custom anno'd images on the new fly? is it done inhouse or do they send it out to a shop? if they have this capability wouldnt it be able to be done to all markers?

its a film dip process. it can be done to anything, it just requires the right setup. I'm sure they don't have it done inhouse, as the investment in equipment for a highly specialized product would be stupid considering the very few people who will actually order one.

Its the same process PE uses for their team edition guns.

Well it's still new and pretty different. I havent seen any other companies step up to the plate on custom gats like this.

The fact that APS has them done in batches probably means that the setup fees for such a process is rather expensive to just have 1 marker done. APS probably saves money because the template (the marker body) is always the same, only the graphics change from gun to gun.

However they do it, it's only being done on new markers.

It's definitely going to continue, and other companies will probably start offering the same thing.

I seem to recall Pro Team Products playing around with this process back in the mid 90's. Firearm companies also use it on graphic'd weapons. I believe there's even a company here in Wisconsin doing it, just read about them doing a MarPat-style camo job on a test-bed EAA Witness 10mm pistol. I can dig up the company name if anyone really wants it tonight - the magazine is in the bathroom reading rack.

Yeah. It's full of paintball magazines and gun magazines. It's the only quiet place in a house of 5 kids.

Actually, it's more like "the top of the cabinets" rather than a true rack. If it were a rack, it'd likely get splashed when the younger kids run through the bath.

I am sorry, this is NOT a film dip process. It is a different technology. I am not going to give away the process here, but be assured it is different.

Pump Scout is right, Pro Team Products did a film process on some Micromags, etc. MANY years ago. Again, our process is different that what they did.

I DO NOT have a basement, and I am sure that my old minivan is serving some family in Indiana quite well, no anodizing acids in there. You're just jealous I did not sell it to you, lol.

Jay there was a rumor that these new angel graphics / technology was just you going out to Kinkos, doing laser color prints and taping em on with double sided tape, anything behind that rumor?

BTW, the company I mentioned above is Lauer Custom Weaponry. No idea how their dips would work out on paintball gear, or if they're even willing/able to accomodate our guns, but there it is.

Hey, don't knock my personal gun, lol. You really have to see one of these in person to appreciate the process. I will have at least one with me in Huntington Beach in April. Anyone wants to go, it is invite only. If you own and Angel, I should be able to get you in.

Does that mean that APS is doing "Angel Heaven" again at events?

Look up pkselective guys on google. It's more or like color injection. Think like a printer. the process has been around for while and they pioneered it. That is assuming that's the process used by APS
