if you plan on having a cyclone on your 98 ever you wont really need ACT. the cyclone hardly chops balls ever... and if you put squishy paddles on it, makes it even more reliable to not break balls. if you dont plan on having a cyclone, it does work. not worth it in my opinion though.

It does help, not as good as a cyclone with soft paddles.

if you're going to make an electronic tippy (or r/t) then its nicer to have than not to have, of course if you put a high quality hopper in the feed neck you shouldnt have a problem either.

I've seen the 98 Cyclones chop like mad. Keep in mind that it's an add-on that the 98 wasn't designed for originally, where the A5 and X7 were.

Actually the 98 Cyclone works better than the A5 or X7, just like the 98 flatline is better. When they first came out they had some problems, but that has been fixed for a while. Most problems now are user error or easy fixes.

I found the ACT a good suppliment to either the cyclone feed or an electronic hopper as even both of those had the potential to be off by a little and get the ball caught partially in the breach

Bottom line is that it works but is not at the level of anti-chop eyes so dont expect it to work everytime.

the good thing though is your tippmann will still shoot without missing a beat even if you do chop

If you don't have anything helpful, please don't bash.

The 98 has a plastic feed hook which is smooth, the A5 and X7 have metel ones that are attached to the marker body. Many cyclone choping problems on the A5 or X7 can be fixed by sanding or filing these down.

The Flatline for the 98 actually outdistances the A5 and X7 flatlines. Many people have gotten adaptors to put the 98 Flatline on there A5's and X7's

So yes point in case, the Cyclones and flatlines for the 98 are better.

98 rentals I used to use chopped like mad. ACT never chopped with stock hopper but hopper could not keep up with trigger speed. With EVO 3 hopper, no chops and no trouble keeping up with higher rates of fire.
