Just got invited to an outing by a coworker (nothing serious, just us noobs) to Liberty paintball in NY. Now I'm really pressured to have this marker finished

Got a 2k5 ram sleeve this afternoon. Disassembled the NME and took out the existing ram sleeve.
Inserted the 2k5 ram sleeve without major problems. Now I can use the eigenram

I actually ruined two barbs in the process as they snapped off in the threads of the sleeve
Thank goodness for xacto knives as I was able to back the pieces off easily.

Yes, rule of thumb for barbs. Hand tighten, then 1/4 turn with a socket wrench. Never broken a barb that way.

yeah i was afraid it would be too loose.
also, is teflon tape needed for the barbs or is the washer enough?

The washer should be enough.

NMEed

On my NME I find that the battery connector (female) fits loosely. In mine it caused a low voltage situation, eyes need a strong battery. Try a rubberband to hold the connector tight on the battery. HTH

Thanks for the info. I'll have to keep that in mind when I try out different paint. I think it's the paint because I'm getting the same problems with my DP Fusion F7 marker. It can't be doing the same thing on 3 different markers.

Haven't been able to test yet The ram sleeve is installed, but have regular barbs on it. Just placed on order from crankwalk for the hi-flow barbs/hose.
Will hopefully be able to test side-by-side either this coming weekend or next.

I was really hoping my order for the hi-flow barbs/hose was coming today.

I'm going tomorrow for some woodsball and was really hoping I could finish the whole project for tomorrow.
I thought the next time I would be going was for a church outing in early April, but this one just sprung up at work.

Aired it up today and dry fired a few times and no leaks. Will somehow try to find some time to fine tune and chrono before going to the field.

Will bring a backup marker in case things don't work out tomorrow.
At least I'll be able to break in the LPR

The NME itself (tubes, noid, front block) performed without any problems.
I say that because minor problems were elsewhere

1. sidewinder reg: I got this used recently and rebuilt and lubed it. After hooking it up, I heard a slight noise (air) coming from the hole in the reg. It was very slight, but couldn't really do much the day of. Anyway, after a couple of dry fires, it went away and didn't hear it again.
I'll have to take a look again at the internals and check.

2. accuracy: this could have been due to the reg as mentioned above. It could also have been due to the worn detents
I deserve it for not bringing spares. It was double firing at times so I decreased the dwell which helped as well as putting the detents in the middle of the groove as opposed to the far front according to the manual. I may have to get stiff detents from eBay

This might also explain why I had to turn the eyes off for the majority of the day as well as prior days during testing/tuning.

They were draxxus paint and I was using a longbow and a lucky 15 barrel, so I would assume it wasn't from these.

Will keep trucking along. The barbs and hose should be there today so I'll post pics when I get a chance on working on it again.

I hear you. It was tough trying to find pics of how others made a notch in the frame, etc.

Well, if you are going to mod the frame soon, it will depend entirely on the timmy front block you can get/have.

-2k2 front block will require some sanding on the part that goes into the body to make it fit. you might also have to widen the hole in the body where the set screw goes in so you can align the set screw with the front block

- 2k5 front block will require you to tap the hole in the NME so it will pin the front block into the body with a grub screw

- 2k6 (don't have one, so I'm not really sure) but from what I remember doesn't need any tapping of any sort.

I would suggest getting a front block first before anything else. this way you can also look at how much you will need to take off for the barb to fit.
you will also need timmy barbs as the NME barbs will not go into the timmy front block.

Just order the SCMIII internals and put them in the Alias LPR. It's cheaper.

From their website.

Update: Just put up another picture on 1st post showing how much I notched the frame for the barb.
