2003 Speed - help with a leak?

G'day gents.

Discombobulated my '03 Speed the other night to give it a good going over in prep for a PM7 conversion.

When I received the gun (cheap Kijiji find) it was missing some small items (volu plug, screws etc etc) that I nabbed from EastCoast (Thanks Brad!) so I of course had no way of knowing the true condition of the gun.

I blew it all apart, looked pretty good inside minus a butchered battery harness. Cleaned it up, gave it a good greasing etc.

Reassembled it to discover a leak from the bleed port at the top of the vert asa (as pictured).

Now, some of the guys over on FB are saying it's the oring so I replaced that but the leak persists. Figured I'd ask here as well to pick the collective brain of the Angel hivemind.

Could it be two bad orings in a row or am I looking at something else? There is a bleed hole in the body of the gun just inside of the port I'm pointing at in the photo, could I be facing an internal issue here?

Thanks!

Did you grease the oring? Typically if its bleeding out of there its the oring or you're not getting a good seal at that oring. I'm also assuming you tightened both screws down for the flash tank. Yes there is two, one through the inside and one on the outside flange.

Yup, new oring greased w/ PE lube. Both screws are tight, and were put back as they came out (thought maybe I had too long a screw at first)

Ugh. Disregard. Turns out I'm blind and didn't notice I was missing my LPR guts :/

Anyone have an LPR for an '03 speed??

You've got the LPR body there, so looks like you just need the piston and springs? Brad can probably hook you up.

For future reference, leaks from that exhaust port are nearly always caused by LPR body o-rings. Very rarely by a missing LPR piston A leak from the flash tank o-ring will usually piss out from the entire base of the flash tank.
