Cats out of the bag, finally

Development Software can be downloaded through this direct link:
http://standtotechnologies.com/JDAM_...eloper_Kit.zip

The Development Software has been updated. You can now change your own splash screen. Detailed Instructions are included.

If you wish to reprogram your JDAM then you will need an FTDI programmer such as this one: https://www.adafruit.com/product/284

Drew and I are going to Extreme Rage Paintball tomorrow to film some footage. I went there today, but HBO was filming some kind of documentary.

Very nice! The board has me excited. The reflective eye with no external milling has me very curious and geeked. The possible jam bolt remake? Hell thats just cool icing on the cake!!

Can't wait to see what how this goes (has me holding off on the pm7/pmr board for now)

Drew (my machinist) seems pretty excited about doing the work. I'm also in the process of making a smart Revvy board for those who like to gear down.

It was like a 40 person film crew. Seemed pretty legit to me at least.

It's always nice to see boards for the brand.

Since ROF seems to go lower and lower, it only makes sense to dust off the rock solid classic, and go to work.

Besides, markers these days don't have any soul. I like my new shocker RSX, but I don't get all that excited to shoot it lol.

I know that I promised shooting videos today, but yea, this happened:

as for the price: This isn't the universal T-board. This is a full function Oled board with dual eye logic, modern PSP mode, and tourney lock. Im not going to post the price yet, but I can tell you its not $50 that's too low and it wont cover the cost of development. You have to keep in mind that you are receiving 2 custom PCB's. It has to be 2 PCB's because in order to make the OLED screen fit in the frame with the battery you have to relocate all of the resistors and capacitors. I was the first to realize this and the only one to make it happen. put plainly, If you dont make a separate custom PCB for the OLED, then the battery and the screen are going to bulge the grips and the screen will likely break. Using Adafruit OLED's or Ebay OLEDS simply wont work. they are too thick.

Dave, I know you don't like to drill for breakbeam eyes, but hypothetically speaking... If customers asked for you/your machinist to do so, could you accommodate this request?

Yea, of course we can. My boards are set up for either breakbeam or reflective. its sort of up to you. If you visit Drew's Bio page you will see we are pretty well equipped. We are also going to offer:

Custom splash screens: so if you want to have a big picture of a middle finger or a picture of a butt, or your band/team name/ logo. We can make it work.

You pick the power LED color: Red, White, Green, Blue, or Yellow to match your gun's theme.

The boards will run at 20Mhz when you receive them, but in the packaging you will find a spare 16 Mhz crystal should you choose to purchase an FTDI programmer from Ebay or Adafruit. I want you guys to be able to update the software later on down the road.

I could have used my ISP programmer and skipped putting a bootloader on these boards, but I know that FTDI programmers are much, much cheaper. That might encourage you guys to venture into reprogramming these things with your own custom code.

That all sounds amazing but if I decide to shell out 150$~ dollars for a board, I'm doing so with the belief that it's perfect for what I want AT THAT TIME. And from what I can tell, you've made just that... I like the customization options, and I will utilize that to my liking but I don't ever intend on writing new code :-D

As for BB installs, would you be offering and MT style milling or the hideous TAG style milling?

I never dreamed of charging $150 per board. Its going to be reasonable. Im not a scrooge McDuck.

as for the master tech eye straps: I'm sure we can do it. Drew is a very talented machinist and a very intelligent person all around. I'll show him some of my archive pictures.

It was a guesstimate seeing as how I haven't the slightest clue as to the time and money you've invested thus far.

Its probably going to be about $95 for the JDAM Rev4, but I'm letting Drew charge his own rate for machining the eye holes.

These boards are manufactured by Advanced Circuits. They are the third largest PCB manufacturer in the US and they build high quality, military spec PCBs. My signature is on these boards, they will not be manufactured by some hobbyist community that cuts a deal to make for cheaper prototyping.

You can't argue with that reasoning, sounds like your boards will be the perfect option for me outside of my collector guns... Guess I better keep the credit card clear :-S
