Suggestions on possible protein bar

I'm skinny, 6'1", and around 145lbs. I am going to be doing a lot of physical work this summer and I would like to gain a little weight/muscle in the process. (more than i normally would)

If i'm going to be doing the work, i figure why not, i would be willing to put some money in something to help myself out a little.

So i'm thinking protein bars? but i really don't know what to do, i need something convenient though.

any suggestions would be much appreciated

You need to just consume massive amounts of food, GOMAD and pick up some whey. All the meanwhile be hitting the gym hard doing big compound lifts, such as deads, quats and bench, at the start of your routines.

If you are indeed 6'1" 145lbs you are pretty skinny so you could def put on weight fast.

Most protein bars are pretty much souped up candy bars. If you are really looking for something convenient just buy a shaker bottle and some whey protein. Fill the bottle with about 2 scoops and when you're ready to drink just add water and shake.

However, best results will be seen by following Peltco's advice. There is no substitute for a lot of nutrient dense food but its not always as quick and convenient

ya i always eat a lot of food, i normally eat pretty good food also. i don't have time to go to the gym, and i can't make time. i'm not looking to get big and strong either. i'm 21 and i don't really care about working out.

like i said i'm going to be working all day every day doing a fair amount of lifting and exercise. i just was hoping there was something that could easily give me a boost from what i was already doing in my daily life.

farming and ranching in the middle of nowhere. daylight till dark eight days a week.

even if i had time, i wouldn't go. i don't care about being "ripped". that's not my question.

i was just wanting some info on stuff i could do to help take more advantage of what i'm already doing.

if you are working long hours with manual labor eating frequently will help you stay anabolic. protein shakes, snack on some nuts, bring a bunch of sandwhiches eat one ever 2-3 hours. stay full while you're busting your ***.

use protein bars as a convenience factor if you cant get in real food. go to your local GNC and pickup some close dated protein bars for a fraction of the cost. i never buy protein bars at full price...

protein bars and shakes dont build the muscle, its the work you do to your muscles.

bars and shakes are just for convenience if people cant get enough protein in during the day from their normal meals.
