Different Omens???

Hello,

I am new to this forum. And have just seen the light. I am not a newbie to paintball, but I am just learning about the Omen.

Whats the difference between the New Black trigger and Guard compared to the old silver trigger?

Thanks all.

Evil is kind enough to constantly install improvements in the omens as the production goes along. Thus you don't see them releasing a lot of upgrades since the newer ones have all that they currently have.

When purchasing an omen make sure it has the black trigger and larger guard and you'll be fine. That's the most up do date one and is a later production model.

The chip that Chris_PDP makes is an upgrade to the current chip... a cheap but valuable mod. You can also install a morlock if you want more control, but lets not go there.

The stock barrel is supposedly as good as any aftermarket barrel out there. I found it to be pretty good, but I'm all about paint to barrel match, thus the pipe.

Where do you buy it? I suggest Shadrach, simply because he's a reputable trader here and sells for about 380, but I suspect you can get him to compromise a little more... .

Good luck.

The new one is larger, easier for people with bigger fingers to use.

The larger frame is also recommended because the smaller framed omens were more prone to problems. The larger ones ensure the chances of getting a "better" omen.

Small trigger guard = 1st gen
Large trigger guard w/ silver trigger = 2nd gen
Large trigger guard w/ black trigger = 3rd gen

Most of the kinks have been worked out in the 2nd and 3rd gen, but get a 3rd gen just ensure you have minimal problems with your Omen.

I talked to mark at evil on the phone the other day, he said there was absolutly no difference what so ever between the guns. the only difference is the bigger guards, and the black triggers are made from magnesium, and he said that the trigger fit tighter so it wouldn't be so prone to bouncing. but other than that, there is nothing internally different.

Cool thanks all. I kind of have gotten mixed statements though. I heard something about a different barrel being used on the newer versions than the older. Think it might be BS though.

officially they are the same but unofficially they arent.. cuz the silver triggers were newer production models prone to bugs that evil would fix in newer production omens that had the black triggers
