That's the Washington one. This is the one I'm referring to.

Again, it is Wikipedia, so be careful.

I saw one of the NOOMA videos entitled "Bullhorn". Not a whole lot of love for bullhorn guy, eh?

The vast majority of my community is made up of people from Kensington Church in Michigan.

As for the big vs. small, I have absolutely no problem with whatever size a church gathering happens to be as long as the message of the Gospel is what's important. Making your church a building and having that building closed is one thing that bothers me in particular because it's so accepted here in the US. I just find it's harder and harder to resemble Christ the larger an organization gets. While there are certainly notable exceptions (Greg Boyd's Woodland Hill Church in Minnesota comes to mind) I feel that on a whole American Christian organization has failed miserably at resembling Christ.

Our Church becomes our Idol.

Sorry about the double post earlier. Posting from my new phone is a lil wonky.

And I installed a new modem super fast, woot for me. So I heard a God awful noise from my speakers that I haven't heard in over a year... dial up. And so far I do not notice a speed change from my blackberry being tethered.

Praying for those requested and those that hadn't.

Mornin' Krew.

Revelation 21:9 (nrs)
9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."

Proverbs 31:10-31 (nrs)
10 A capable wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. 12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. 14 She is like the ships of the merchant, she brings her food from far away. 15 She rises while it is still night and provides food for her household and tasks for her servant-girls. 16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. 17 She girds herself with strength, and makes her arms strong. 18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night. 19 She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle. 20 She opens her hand to the poor, and reaches out her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid for her household when it snows, for all her household are clothed in crimson. 22 She makes herself coverings; her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the city gates, taking his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them; she supplies the merchant with sashes. 25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. 27 She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up and call her happy; her husband too, and he praises her: 29 "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." 30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Give her a share in the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the city gates.

There is but one Church and it isn't retained by denominational confines.

Hi guys!

It took me this long to catch up on all the post.
I have to say when it comes to churches, big or small, it is up to the individual to see where they stand.

I came out of a small church that was family, but family to visitors and new members was felt more like a clique than family. Then went to a little bigger church and it was ALL fellowship, ALL love and def. run like a business. But there was no Word, no conviction of sin and it was all done as to "not offend".

As for Rob Bell's methods of teaching: I like.
As for Rob Bell's concept of a church: I agree on many points.

On another note, my stomach is trying to strangle me by the intestines for having eaten a late night HOT salsa and chips fest. Who needs you stomach!

def. not good Mark.

I didn't get to finish what I was saying (doing the posts from the phone):

Then went to a little bigger church and it was ALL fellowship, ALL love and def. run like a business. But there was no Word, no conviction of sin and it was all done as to "not offend". But people conform and mold to fit. That's when it stops being church and starts being a club, business and/or wrong (sin, like Gary was saying).

It takes a grounded Christian to see past the conformity.

Tums not working? I've had success with baking soda and water but most the time I have heartburn it's gas, so a couple of good belches and I'm good to go. The effect on all those around me?...*shrug*... meh, I feel better anyways.

A shot of apple cider vinegar a day is good if you have constant heart burn. I love hot food, just not what it does to ya the next day.

Got 4 new tires and wow I can actually go somewhere and not sideways or sliding in random directions...$616 gone but also got an oil change.

So far so good.

Passing this prayer request along:

To all my brothers and sisters in Christ, please pray for sister Rosa Esperanza Arevalo, she is very ill and still in the hospital. Please pray that God may restore her health and to give wisdom to the doctors that are trying to figure out what is wrong with her.

On it.

I tried to take a nap, but nothing happened. Has anyone watched the movie 9? I started it yesterday and fell asleep like every movie I try to watch anymore at home. On a side note, I LOVE Dr. Pepper.

Off to work soon, have a good one all!
