It's extremely simple to work with an equalink cable. Just plug it into the board, plug it into the computer and then there ya go, config.

I think he's talking bout making the cable itself which requires cutting and splicing. I think I came across a thread on how to do it but was over my head too
much more difficult than soldering wires and smd leds on circuit boards

I'm sure I could make the cable. seriouslysilly, you're in NJ. Maybe we can share services. I can fab you up a cable and you can teach me how to maintain my NME.

I'm far away from considering myself familiar with the NME, but have disassembled the marker a few times already and getting the hang of it.
I'd be happy to try to help you in any way I can. I'm pretty sure I will not know all the answers, but can redirect you to who are experts with the NME.
Like the famous quote goes, "it's not what you know, it's who you know"
I definitely wouldn't have gotten where I am today with my NME without the guidance of other people and definitely glad I can return the favor to someone else.

I could fab that up with no problem if I see a schematic.

I'll get out the multi-meter, take my cable apart, and see if I can draw up a schematic. Might take me some time though.

silly, I just got the olive one a week ago and I think I blew the solenoid!!! =(
The black/yellow, it's on its way to me now. =D
The first time I saw one, I fell in love. The design is not only sexy as sin but it's big enough for me to hold and not feel like I'm Gulliver trying to operate a slingshot.
If I can fab up the cable, I'll lend it to people for shipping cost. Probably like $2 each way. Or I'll fab some up and sell them for the cost of the parts. Might even bring a working prototype to work and get a nice one spun at the fab shop.

Same with me too. When I first saw it in person, I couldn't get over how it looked. I also like how it feels when I hold it (weight, balance). It doesn't feel like a cheap plastic toy.
Some people have said it's a bit heavy compared to their ions, tippman, etc but to me it just feels right.

Heavy compared to an Ion or Tippman? Seriously? Maybe compared to a late model DM, Ego, Vice, Luxe, or other high end! No way it's heavier than any Ion or Tippman though!

yeah, we're all newbs and the person who made that statement is a teenager who recently got an ion off ebay. I am currently fixing this marker (on/off switch broke off) but just waiting for the part.
anyway, i brought it one day and he asked to hold it and made that comment.
