With all the trouble that people are going through with d3 this event could you not combine d3/d4 this one event? it allows for bigger brackets and more competition. I dont think that any of the d4 teams would mind stepping up against the d3 teams. I am not fluent on the rules regarding a situation like this but i dont see why it wouldnt be feasible to just make this a hands down d3 or open event and let everyone battle it out.

Im looking into a way to combine the 2 Divisions for prelims as long as the brackets can be made fair. Then let the D-3 teams play each other for a finals. 1st place D-3 in Prelims directly to finals 2nd and 3rd play each other to to see who plays 1st place team. Winner will get entry free next event?

This is not carved in stone but looks to be a fair solution. Suggestions welcome.

D-4 prelims would play 2 D-3 and 2 D-4 Teams, then standard rules apply to finals.

only prob with this idea is that d4 teams can get shafted by d3 teams that aren't "technically" their competition. In like 2004 nppl ran this idea and pros played lower div teams and idk. Having half my prelim games against a higher div doesn't seem right to me. I'd rather play 3 d4 teams and a d3 if its possible. not by league tho, I'm just happy to play.

I like it, reminds me of how the CFOA use to run their tournaments back in 2005. Double round robin would be fine for us as well. It would allow teams to practice making adjustments and capitalizing on them.

What ever way we go will be focused on fairness and fun. Working with APPA to come up with the best formula depending on the number of teams.
