I hate Steve Stricker so much. If all golfers were as boring as he is the sport would have no popularity.

What popularity does professional golf really have besides Tiger?

You get into golf. Play a lot of tournaments. Especially as a junior. You meet a lot of the pros that aren't very well known that they have come speak to the junior players. I personally like watching these guys more than I like watching Tiger.

Lol, I understand that. But seriously think on a global level here.

Tiger is golf.

You've got a point there. TV ratings are higher when he is in the tournament. It could hurt the tour why he is on his little sexcapade.

It's the same thing as when he was recovering from surgery. Even though Tiger boosted the popularity of golf when he came on tour, golf was still popular back in the day of Jack and Arnie. I just got tickets for the Honda Classic over my spring break. I'm excited as hell. Somehow it's my first pro tournament ever seeing live and i've been playing all my life.

Even with arnie and the old greats golf was still a fringe sport with zero TV ratings etc

Tiger IS golf, at this point the support might be there for it to survive without him but before him there was little to nothing.

It's a pretty good gig once you've been working there for a while. Especially at a private club. When you first start you aren't going to know any of the members. But as you work more, you gradually get to know the members better, and hopefully they like you. If they like you, then normally will tip you pretty well for getting their clubs, bringing them a cart, washing their clubs, etc.

I manage the pro shop at a course in north Mississippi, been doing it for four years during the summers, it is a good gig and the free golf is excellent. Close the shop at 6 everyday and still have a couple of hours of daylight to play some free holes

Our Gm is a real ***** when it comes to us playing. He doesn't mind it from time to time, but you have to clear everything with him like a day or two in advance.
