Ahh. I'm from the area, and there's a pretty good amount of things to shoot. Have you heard about the Byron Hot Springs?

If you guys don't like what someone else has to say ignore it and move along. If the post breaks the rules report it and move along. Everyone has a right to his/her opinions. With that being said the way you present your opinion may result in another member seeing it has a helpful/respectful post or a trolling/disrespectful posts.

I'm not too sure what this is in reference to, so I'll guess the offending posts were deleted. If the posts were against me, I've been visiting this forum for years, so I'm used to being flamed. Honestly, some constructive criticism would be appreciated.

Yeah it's a really cool location. There's a few guys that have some night time shoots and some day shoots there.

Here's one flickr I found using google for it.

I've been thinking about going out there. Recently got my camera though and haven't had the time.

I'll PM you about Byron...

I went to Joshua Tree recently. A couple photos:

50ish 1-minute 30-second exposures stacked. ISO 800, f/3.2 per exposure.

I shot timelapse here for the night, and got some pretty cool footage of the moon rising behind the arch. This photo has 5ish exposures aligned in DSS and stacked in Photoshop. Each exposure was 20 seconds, f/2.8, ISO 1600. I used my LED headlamp with a CTO gel over it to light-paint on the arch. The Milky Way passes diagonally through the center of the photo, and Orion is on the center right.

And the obligatory standard Joshua Tree photo:

Depends when... I go to school in NorCal, and even my house in SoCal is 2-3 hours from Joshua Tree.
Edit: to sixsixsix

To PaintedSaint: I shoot everything in RAW and edit in Photoshop. I also used DeepSkyStacker in my Milky Way and Arch photos.

Orange County. Huntington Beach specifically.

I'm busy for the next few days, then go back to Berkeley. I have my first couple weekends in Berkeley planned out already...

Nope towards you, just a friendly reminder to a few of your fellow members. Sometimes It's just better to post a small "reminder" instead of handing out warnings/infractions through SYSTEM.
