I went to Joshua Tree recently. A couple photos:
50ish 1-minute 30-second exposures stacked. ISO 800, f/3.2 per exposure.
I shot timelapse here for the night, and got some pretty cool footage of the moon rising behind the arch. This photo has 5ish exposures aligned in DSS and stacked in Photoshop. Each exposure was 20 seconds, f/2.8, ISO 1600. I used my LED headlamp with a CTO gel over it to light-paint on the arch. The Milky Way passes diagonally through the center of the photo, and Orion is on the center right.
