_National Play Paintball Day 2010_
We, here at Spokane Paintball Club, have been throwing around the idea of setting up a national "Play Paintball Day". The sport of skateboarding has a very similar thing, called "Go Skateboarding Day" and has been very succesful in getting people interested in that sport.
Paintball, as we all know, has been on the decline for the last few years and I personally come across people that have not played, know nothing about, or are misinformed on what paintball is all about. I know that the paintball community is wanting things to get better and seeing our local fields stay alive and kicking so that we can continue to keep playing.
One major issue that has been troubling paintball is the reluctance of players of going out and playing paintball. A problem that has come up is players not having other players to play with or just getting out and playing all together.A pre-orchastrated day where all players invite their friends and family to go out and spend the day paintballing. This applies to all fields, whether it would be speedball, woodsball, rec fields, outlaw fields, and even backyard ball. All that matters is that all players can have a set day to play paintball. Public awareness is something our sport could heavily benefit from.
So if you have an opinion on this idea, whether it be good or negative, speak your mind and maybe we'll see this happen. This could change the sport, only if we want it to.
