Maybe he needs to lube it, try lubing the reg and internals. Along with a fresh battery.

Change the battery again... Use less lube.

Well I know in the cold the SFT oring in the breech can be a problem, but if it's not firing at all, try a new battery. Batteries can drain in the cold, and if it's a **** battery, it may not be supplying enough juice to the marker.
Edit- wait you're in Texas? How cold is "cold" for you? Are we talking about below freezing? If not, your friend just has no idea how to take care of a marker.

we live near dallas, and there is snow and ice. so its pretty cold. but its not in the negatives. and also, i ment it shoots, but the ball just like rolls out of the breech.

This just sounds like a low battery. Or low dwell. Have your friend up his dwell, he may be getting some bolt stick in the cold. Up it around 10-15 clicks and see how that does. Obviously it will affect his efficiency, but it's better than a marker that wont shoot.

Ok if he's using sleek he should be fine. that's what i use and try what Idio is presenting, up your dwell and possible clean the reg if he hasn't done that yet.

ugh, my friend denies everything im trying to tell him. i told him you should up the dwell and change his battery but he only believes his other friend that is "supposedly" sponsord by planet eclipse. he tells me that its because its a smart parts gun, and all of them suck. well anyways, thanks for the help man

yeah, low dwell is probably it if it's not the battery (considering he didn't over lube the gun beyond belief).

Link him to this thread. Everyone that posted in it is probably better at teching ions than SP themselves.

and it's not like we are noobs or just what people stigmatize as "10 yr. olds with ions". If he doesn't want his problem solved...then oh well, let him struggle when he is off the field and you are on the field having a good time lol.
