That's not a beloved franchise.
The New Orleans Saints have a bandwagon fanbase in every sense of the word.

No. The stadium has not been only a 1/4 full for many many years now. Every single franchise has it's "Aints" phase and a bandwagon phase. If you don't live here then you don't know what our Saints mean to our area.

I've been in that region many times since Katrina hit, I've seen what it's like down there.
It's pretty sad that a professional football team has to win a world title for anyone in that city to do anything positive. How about not commiting crime and actually trying to make your city a better place?
Just a thought.

Again, isn't that true for just about every city? There was life here before Katrina.. time didn't start with the storm. A visit to the area is not the same as living here. Aren't you from Ohio?

That's exactly my point.
The Cleveland Browns are perenially one of the worst teams in the NFL. And yet they have the largest amount of Backers in the world, basically the largest fanbase, and still manage to sell out games.
We didn't need something terrible happening to our city for us to actually like our team.
Edit - I've been down there for about a total of 2 months since the storm. While that's not exactly "living" down there, it's definitely an extended stay.

Yeah, the Browns have been filled with so much epic fail but yet games still sell out even when it's 4 degrees out.

Yea, you cant really dog the Browns. The Saints however, were a CH away from pack their **** up and moving out of NOLA and the city couldnt have been happier. If I recall correctly they wanted a new regime to step in and attempt to make them successful and now everyones all "Z0mG u guiz! We roxorz!"

Then you don't recall correctly because that is not what/ how it went down at all.

lol, no, we hate the Saints because of jackass fans like you. Not because you're the best. A team that had 2 playoff victories before this year can hardly be considered the best.

Im pretty positive your team was this close to being in San Antonio, and the only reason it didnt happen was because the NFL wanted a team in LA or Toronto before San Antonio. Benson wanted out of NOLA in the worst way because they couldnt field a winner and couldnt sell out games.

That was like 2 people. It was the 90s when you went to the game and hundreds of fans had them on.

I find it comical that nobody comments or challenges all of my valid points, but then attack something as trivial as "only 1/4 full". Lol

You bring up the browns, but you have to realize Ohio has about 12 million in population. Louisiana has close to 4 million. It's not hard to see why the Browns would have more support.

People are leaving Ohio at an alarming rate, and Pittsburgh is no further than a few hours (2-4 depends where) from Cleveland. The Browns have been an epic failure of a franchise, arguably worse than any other, in the history of the NFL.

Let's not turn this into a cockfest. I was just using the Browns as comparison since I'm from Ohio and they are a failhard franchise.

Dude, the Browns have 28 playoff appearances to the saints 7. And 8 League championships to the saints 1 that they just got last night. Yea the browns haven't been good in a while but their history is by far not the worse.
