2006 Intimidators

I found a GEN4 06 timmy in the BST that I like, but was wondering what sort of things i should look for...or look out for in the GEN4.

I was getting out of PB when these came out but it seems like there was a common problem with them.

I'm just looking for a heads up before I drop the cash.

When the gen4's first came out they had a delrin poppet, which caused some issue. But now they all(should) have a brass poppet.

I had no issues with my 2k6 Alias and it had the stock delrin poppet. But I could just be lucky.

Wrong 06...

He is refering to the gen4's, not the gen3's

You've got to balance the regs out each time you gas it up, but that takes an extra 2 minutes out of your day. A lot of people didn't do that, so it garnered a bad reputation, but it's a damn solid gun.

I'm confused. Forgive me, I've been out of the game since, well, 06. Were the gen4s the ones with some really cool milling, I think Empire may have had a part in it too...

Generally timmys are not refered to by the year. mainly cause there were some many made in that year, or that they were still making older ones while making the new ones as well. Thats why timmys are broken down into generations.

Funny, I never had to do this with mine. I didn't do anything different than any other timmy and it worked great. Never had a problem with it.

Gen4s were a bit more finicky because of the new pressure balance system.

I just slowly gas up and never have any problem.
resetting the regs really has no effect if you have the brass poppet.

Ya, I had the brass poppet in mine. Worked, and still works mint. Highly under rated gun in my opinion.

I had an empire 2 timmy with a brass poppet (problems were with the delrin poppet). I loved that gun, had minimal kick and was one of the most efficient markers I'd ever owned.

Once you've owned one for a little while and have taken it apart, you'll understand how it works, then diagnosing and fixing problems/leaks will be very easy.

I'd say go for it. I wish I never sold mine.

troof. i remeber when i first got mine and tried taking it apart...sigh...so many parts. but after you learn how the gun works its easy. plus most of the stuff you never really need to take apart. Poppet at most.
