I used to play at least 2 times a month but have not played in probably 6 or 7 years. One of my friends thatchas never played asked me if I ever play anymore and was interested in playing. This had me itching to get back into paintball. I never had much fun playing on fields with broke down cars, castles, or western towns. I really just liked fields with inflatable bunkers. I understand beginners get a kick out of that stuff and its great for parties too but when looking into fields I used to frequent it seems that this is the only style of play offered. No one allows you to byop and some require you to rent their markers.
My question is am I missing something? Are there nights at certain fields where seasoned players (i can hardly call myself this anymore) can play each other and have a fun challenging game?
I understand that the economy took a dump, and I quit playing along with many people and fields did what they had to do in order to stay alive but its almost like they are setup in a way for people to not like it too much, as there is no where to turn to if you get good.
I did see that Insane paintball does have 1 indoor field, I actually visited them on a saturday. I was there half the day and 2 entire speedball games were played.
I feel your pain, im in Franklin and after being out of the game for a few years and out of town for a few more years im looking to get back in it. Ive heard of Red Leg up north of Nashville. Insane never had a great indoor field, they were always too small and not regulation size. Whenever I played tournies or practiced it was always outside.
Ive heard the name red keg but coukdnt find much out about it or a website. I loved insanes indoor fields. Sure they were a little small but weather was never any issue. The outdoor fields were great when the weather cooperated. To me it was always a place you could make plans to go to because gameplay was not going to be dependant on weather.
I'm in Knoxville and just starting to get back into it cause the gf wants to play. I prefer speed ball but she likes the woods. Once she gets acclimated to the sport a little better I'd like for us to go to a field and play.
