Will this be milled from a block of carbon?
not 100% carbon, no. a combination of carbon and delrin so far. it's a 2x2 twill with 45-45 orientation. it's roughly around 1oz/yd^2, pretty light carbon that's why i'm using 5 layers+delrin. It sohuld be more than strong enough. No it's not milled. it's made very similarly to how they make carbon tubes. the carbon was cured over a mandrel, then the mandrel was removed to get the pictures that I have showed so far.
I also had yet another learning experiance...I went to install the bolt assembly and everything was going good until the bolt guide threads hit a burr or something. It seized up and then POP...the rear delrin ring started spinning around.
It's an easy fix, but next time I'll have to remember to put some grooves in the rings that will prevent it from spinning.
