thanks. this is still one of my "priority projects". I just bought 2 gallons of resin so I can start making another body soon.

Ive though about the aluminum rings, but I think the delrin will work. I just need to mature the design a little more. this next body I'll be doing the air passage tubes a little differently, which is the real problem I'v been having with the last 2 bodies. I think they really need to be integrated into the main body and not added on after it's cured.

also, a mag body would be super easy to do. I've done a phantom body already, and it's fairly similar in design. Shoot me a PM, I'm sure I could help you out with it if you're seriously interested in trying it out.

It's probably $30-$40 in material alone, but labor and manufacturing material is what kills me.

As long as it's not a large project, yes. I need to get my new mill up and running before I have time to tackle the big stuff.

not sure what kind of carbon you've had experience with but done correctly it has greater strength than steel. pretty sure if I can get the wrinkles ironed out it'll be more robust that most aluminum markers.

Carbon fiber is strong over all but if you strike it, unlike other materials, it tends to crack or break with relative ease. So yes, carbon fiber can be considered fragile. You don't want to drop your CF barrel on a concrete floor after all or even a hard wood floor.

I've dropped my entire gun with tank and DW barrel on my hardwood floor, and it's fine.
