When you put cards in SLI you still only have the memory of what one card has.. in this case 4gb not 16gb.

Ever seen the Witcher 2 with the maxed settings and triple buffering in 2k HD (2650 x 1440)?
But seriously, as M98custom1212 said, I do run a 1440p display, so a single standard GTX 680 wont cut it mainly because of VRAM. But for 1080p displays, a regular GTX 660 ti will handle anything out there.

For the second monitor, duh.
An interesting way to spend several thousand dollars, but if you're happy with it that is all that matters.

Your next four grand spent should go towards a nicer desk, wire concealment, window curtains, nice stuff on the wall, and a down payment towards an engagement ring to Tron chicky there.

All that stuff doesn't make games look any better or make my 3dmark score higher... so I will pass.

I dont have curtains either. But I don't setup my desk where the window(s) is behind my monitor blowing out my vision during the day either.

Can you take off monitor brackets so the screens line up almost exactly, or will that kill the monitor?

Even if you took off the bezel around the monitor, there would still be a huge metal plate bezel behind it that holds the panel in place. Most FPS games I play on 1 monitor, surround only makes sense for Skyrim, RPG's, Racing Games, and Flight Sims IMO
