phase 1 of my PC replacement complete:

Cooler Master Storm Enforcer case
added a 200mm exaust fan to the top fan slot

the internal components are nothing special (3 years old from my last build) but I think I did a pretty nice job with the cable management

phase 2 will be next week
Asus P8P67 mother board
Corsair H80 CPU cooler
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Power Supply
Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz CPU
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB ram
Kingston 98GB SSD (already have)
Galaxy GT 240 1GB DDR3 video card (already have)
asus dvd rw drive (already have)
lite on blu ray drive (already have)
1 TB usb 3.0 external HDD (media drive. external so I can share with my laptop when I travel)

Probably gonna add some red light tubes to the inside of the case to illuminate the components

Id invest in an aftermarket cooler just to be a little more on the safer side.

The location of the connections for the power/leds/reset and your HD audio is far better on that mobo, wish all of them were like that.

Twizy if he is getting the 2400 I don't you you can really overclock it. He's plenty "safe". Not going to overheat it with the stock heatsink.

You're probably going to want an aftermarket cooler on that 2400, just so you know.

They run a little warm in my experience.

Sweet Jesus.

And some people thought my S1283 was big back when I did my build.

Also, what is better at cooling, the Silver Arrow or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835608018, or a closed loop watercooling system like the Antec 620 or the Corsair H60?

iirc the d14 edges out the closed loop stuff by a hair.

It was about 5 years coming. I did my last major build back in 2005, when I was still in high school. Each time I tried doing a new build, I'd save $1000 and end up spending it on something like a new lens. So I wanted to go all out and build my dream machine, that I wouldn't need to upgrade for quite some time. I mainly wanted something that would play BF3 with everything maxed out, and not drop below 60fps. This should do it

I have the Noctua, and couldn't be happier. At load, I'm around 55C, with a 2600k @ 4.8. The silver arrow gets almost identical performance, but I just decided on the Noctua

Alright, if I get a new system and am thinking about seriously overclocking, I'd get the Kuhler or one of the other ones. Rather not have that monstrosity on the motherboard.
