As an engineering major, my degree only comes in a BS at most school. My girlfriend is doing math and I had always assumed she was also going a BS, but I recently found out she was doing a BA.

I also found out this meant she only has to take a few senior level class, compared to my 7 or 8, and doesn't have to take most of the science background I also had to. My brother is also doing a BA in computer science even though his school offers both. His dean said no one did the BS.

So what are you guys doing? What majors offer both a BA and BS?

BA...pretty poor decision on my part. I chose Russian as my language requirement and I keep getting B's in it. It hurt my GPA more than a BS would've in the long run.

Oh well.

i'm also working on my BS in mech. engineering, not sure there's a BA offered for it here, to be honest.

im taking a BS and still have to take 12 foreign language credits

We have the option of either BS or BA in Computer Science; I went with BS because I'm pretty sure people with CSCI BA's end up being secretaries for local insurance companies...
