>$100 I'd say the Tippmann Gryphon. Very nice, consistent gun, pretty light bit with super reliable 98 internals. Low price tag allows you to save your money to buy a nice mask, HPA tank, then hopper.
$150-250 Invert Mini
~$350 Tippmann Crossover
>$600 Axe or Used Highend
It really depends on your budget. Just remember that your mask is more important than your gun.

definitely if you are a smaller player i would go with an invert mini. you can get one used for less than 200 usually. shoot great and are very simple to use. feels good in the hands.

A really good beginner gun is the new gun from GOG the GOG enemy, 125$ shoots great and is a mechanical marker. I would say it's very good price for a great beginner gun.

This ^^^
Also look into the Envy as well, but if you need to spend less go with the eNeMy. Both are smooth guns for the price but if you get the enemy it is able to be upgraded to electronic. Welcome to paintball
