Aren't most young gun tournaments meant to limit the younger players from getting destroyed by older players?
I personally say it depends on your skill level. It may be for younger players in general, but what advantage would an older first time player have?
EDIT : I may have the wrong definition of young gun... if it is simply just meant for younger players, I would say 18 and under.

It all depends on what your trying to classify "Young Guns" as. New to the sport? Or just young people playing the sport.
Young People playing the sport? Then defiantly 18 and under.
New to the sport? Could be any age. There are some talented young people out there.

When I started playing the term "young guns" refered to kids 10-15, it was not based on skill level. We were playing our first tourneys against kids up in novice CFOA, most of the kids are now d1 or pro.

This statement is incorrect.
And who are you playing D3 for?

depends on skill level/age imo lactaion might have alot to do with the two and i feel that both those things are related. a few reasons: bigger places = more ballers usually= more people for young ballers to play with/ associate with. i find people are clicky and well alot of ballers get big egos/dare i say the word ignorant? to the needs of the younger players/our sports future egos and clicky idealisms at the field just hurt the younger players. more so in smaller areas and theese players wont play asmuch if the feel alianated by the older members if thier the only ones out there. i believe its all about exposure age doesnt have as much to do with it as exposure/skill level i can go to a tournement in a bigger area and get killed by a team of little 14 year old kids or show up at a tournement the same size but with teams from smaller areas and almost always the yound players are playing low divisions. i dont think there can really be a blanket number for this, we can al shoot and snap perfectly fine older players usually have played more and just gotten better at it but if you take a 14 year old and a 25 year old with the same skill level and put them against eachother id have to say the 14 year old will have an huge advantage due to thier size if not anything else

13 and under. The "of age" law was not created with paintball in mind. By 16, your driving and fairly mature. 13 or 14 and under is the spot.

16< under 16 you need lower prices and entry fees on account of not hVing a job. When I started at 12 my parents told mr they wernt goin to pay for squat. I naught spyder ion, shocker And soon ego all on my own. Untill you can ge a job ( maybe 15) it's just not logicL to play in tourneys other than young gun.
