so are you saying it was still too short even when the pieces were together. because i think it just recently snapped, because i took the gun apart a few weeks ago and it was together fine, but still had some slight problems but nothing as major as im having right now.

and i do recall when the whole spring was together both of the sides looked like they were just cut, and not flattened out, i just figured it was normal.

It was probably OK before - we try to cut to 7-8 coils.

I know the problem is probably caused by the sprint you just posted a picture of, but I had the exact same problem when I put in my eigenram on my gen 4. The poppet would lock. I had to raise the dwell from 8 to 10 and it solved the problem for the most part. I still get lock every once and a while, but its much better. Before I was getting lock on every other trigger pull. So if the new spring still doesnt fix the problem completely I would up your dwell.

As far as getting the leak while tuning your lpr and hpr...make sure you are doing it the way Gamer described a few posts up or it will leak the way you stated.

Such symptoms would be consistent with the spring I provide having weakened somewhat over time. I will provide a new one, or you can simply shim with washers to increase the spring tension, if this is the case.

If the ram/noid system is what leaks at low pressures, you may try replacing the front ram oring again after having soaked an 006 in dow55 overnight (or just let them swell a bit more). The noid can be weird at very low pressures, we had gen4s getting velocity down at the 30s LPR psi in testing but it just isn't healthy for the gun that low.

The poppet sticking issue suggests that maybe 1 point higher on dwell and a little lower on HPR would be optimal for your gun, IMO.

Let me know what you think.

question? why is it unhealthy for the gun? my rl used to run at 35 people always told me that it to be wrong? i think my nd runs around 40?

Noids have trouble sealing, and the LPR doesn't recharge as well that low. Gen3 pressures are best set by sweetspotting, but that's another story. I suppose the sweetspotting algorithm could end up with LPR pressures that low @300fps, but I doubt it.

Glad you found the culprit but there is also something else that can cause this erratic behavior when the Marker is assembled and set up properly.

Here in South Florida for instance, it isn't too uncommon to set up a Marker to ultimate perfection the night before playing only to have it act up or not work at all in the morning.

I had this happen to me on two occasions with my beloved Storm and the first time it happened I played around with pressures, tore down the regs, removed and relubed the ram and then out of nowhere it just started operating properly.

The second time it happened I was furious and decided to take the Marker apart... Inside was dew. You see, because it is generally very hot & humid here in south Florida, we tend to crank up the A/C to keep our home pretty cold so we can sleep comfortably. As everyone knows, anything cold that you expose to heat begins to bead up with moisture and Markers I found were no different.

I've tech'd dozens of Markers with the same types of issues over the years and the culprit was almost always the same.

From that day, I setup all me gear the night before as I've always done but it all stays in my garage overnight so there's no change in ambient temperature to recreate my issue. NEVER had a single issue of that nature since.
