That I knew, I was just wondering if he was making a reference to a hammer/poppit or something.

No, just basing the eye + detent + feedneck layout/system, everything else is off of the Aedes. I could post an image of my CAD if you want.

Yeah the Evil-M used a ram/hammer combo. His idea I think he was getting at was to use the Evil-M style body and then set the mQ valve farther back along the body.
P.S. check the front desk of the Haidaway. Your package should be there.
HO HO HO.

I'm trying to imagine how to design a similar bolt for a spyder. It would need a port on the bottom of the bolt because the air transfer hole is too close to the breach. Perhaps the port could be angled backwards internally so it is sealed by bolt guide before the outside enters the breach. The bolt wouldn't be radially symmetric so it would need to be indexed somehow.

Markers with underfed magazines usually have very long bolts with the port near the back of the bolt for air.
Ideally you would just have a thumb screw on the top of the marker the goes into the top of the bolt and also acts as the method of spring return. This is how the ZAP ZXS-600E does it (single tube version, not the blowback). The Sovereign also uses a system like this.

I designed an Aedes style drop in for a Spyder this last week actually, I had thought for a long time that the closeness of the air transfer port between the tubes was prohibitive when it hit me.
There is no real need for the port to be 100% behind the bolt at rest. There is enough room for a 1" bolt stroke if the bolt covers part of the transfer port while resting, not that a full 1" is necessary either.
Not to just tease with it, but the recent CAD file is on my thumb drive at work, I'll get some good visual aid later, but here is an early version from right after it hit me.

I already understand how it works. Pretty simple if you ask me. You are working under the principle that the exterior of the bolt that would go outside of the guide would act as a sail for the bolt's forward motion. Then when the bolt travels far enough forward the air vents out through the front.
Yahtzee!!!

Hey cool. I'd never done any measurements, so I had just assumed that the valve was to close to the breach.
That's sweet that it'd work as a drop-in for a spyder. I'll have to try it some day now knowing that it would fit.
BTW, thats a fancy looking valve you've got going there Yoda. Going for a PCP gas through grip design?

I've got a guess: active devolumization mechanism, like the pmi ram air chamber. http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/1028/

No, it appears that he has some kind of spool system for his valve.

It's essentially the same valve as in my closed bolt Ion, just in the lower tube. Sort of semantics whether it is a pressure controlled poppet or a spool, it fits some of both "definitions" nicely.

sounds like a volume chamber with a spring behind a movable 'wall' that counteracts the pressure/volume thing... tho I could just be talkin outta my ***.
btw I'm in a rush so if it doesnt make sense, sorry.

I can't find a PMI STS G3 manual, so that's the best I could do.

Is that a front volumizer replacement piece or where in the marker could it go?

Yes, it fits where a standard volumizer would go. Spyder calls them LPCs, everyone else calls the volumizers.
