maybe it was the paint u used? i just used some severe typhoon and it would break about 1 out of 5 balls. i know it was jsut me cuz my brother and another ref was breaking paint like crazy. i had no problems using chronics or syn, just with the typhoon.

see original post....
I've put a total of four different types of premuim paint through the gun with a total of 5 barrels, three paint matched, one stock, and one HUGE bore (just to be sure) .695 barrel. Besides we found out it was a defect in the body. Just adjacent, on the body of the gun, to the feed rails was a decent sized imperfection which would chop the balls or atleast dent them enough that they would shoot all wild and slice.

Hector,
Did they say why the bumper needed to be cut. I'm assuming it was causing too much recock but what internal part was this a part of? Main spring? Bolt Spring?

i cut the bumper because the bolt and hammer wasnt going back far enough so the ball was getting pinched by the cam feed and the bolt aka breaking paint like crazing, so by cutting the bumper in half it let the bolt and hammer come back more and let the paintball go into the breech. it also lowered the recock pressure to.

Dude, i think you just fixed my un-fixable Omen! Thanks 100000000 times man! I just hope my bumper doesn't disintagrate after a case of paint though, heh (well that's still better than what it was before).

I always thought the bolt didn't come back far enough, but that idea never crossed my mind. Thanks again.

Hmm that might work for some of the issues I've been having as well.

Thanks for the possible fix.

Praise the Evil. Let the Omen be known o'er all the land.

Is there any way to tell if cutting the bumper will help before you actually make the cut? I think this may solve some of the problems I have when I running some of the weaker paints. Every so often I will pinch a ball between the bolt and the receiver and the marker stops half-cocked with goo coming out of the cam feed.

Well I just put some year and a half old Nelson Anarchy through it with the needle on my tank reading zero. NO CHOPS! No problems!

The only problem I have encourted thus far is that the inner hammer can pop out and jam if it is cocked back too far (but that only happened when I cocked it manually).

You gotta love the patroling Impy brigade that goes to all the forums telling people with gun troubles to buy an impy..

Anyhow I used an Omen all day yesterday (black trigger) and was very impressed. Using my case of big ball (in red) it shot very very well, but I had a little bit of left over TC that would just get eaten up by the bumper. It was pretty annoying, but when I used straight up Big Ball it shot like a pro, and I had some bounce on it so I was shooting as fast as the Timmys and Trixes I was playing with.

go buy a vision impulse?????
Omen MSRP $450
Vision Impulse MSRP $700
Plus the omen is a culmination of bueatiful aftermarket parts that make a ripper of a gun.
The Impulse has to be upgraded, granted not much, but some before it runs right.

Not to mention... Smart parts?!?! really!?!? damn nazi's......

Yes they rock so much, that you're selling yours. Lol. If they were truly good, then why sell that pos. What hypocrisy, why open your mouth if only foulness comes out.

I've owned impys, they're alright. But that's it... just alright. Poor man's timmy? They wish, they don't even come close... More like a poor imitation of a timmy.

Your impy has vision but its the cheapest vision type available. Why is it so low quality? Because SP is out there for greens that's it. They could've easily decided to put a true ACE on it like the bushy and so many other quality anti chop markers, but no they decided to go the cheap reflective eye route... so after you put some real vision on that pos come back and the omen will still own you.

Another case in point: the ****ty LPR on the impy... that thing is just crap, they should just leave a big gaping hole on the impy and give you a discount since that thing is just going in the trash right away.

An omen will not chop when its setup correctly. I haven't chopped with it for a helluva long time. I've got some vids of it, not sure how fast I'm shooting but hell i'm not that quick... but no chops or noticeable recoil... just darts. PM me if you want a copy, or someone can host it. I've got a vaporized B2k3 w/pds and chaos board, and its a lot better than my impy ever was, but I still prefer the omen, it shoots almost as well and it has a lower profile unlike the two story impy and its cousin the bushy.

Huge.

IF anything it should be the Rec Baller's Electro. God people, jumping on a brand new gun. The Impy sucked horribly until the 2k2, even then it still needs upgrades to be a high performance machine.
