Lima News ran an article this week about an indoor field opening up there.

Depends on your location. Most likely, you will have to drive a distance. There are indoor fields in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.

There is an indoor field, across the border in Windsor Canada. There is also one in Canton, OH. What is your location?

You're better off throwing money in the air and trying to catch every dollar repeat until you lose every dollar which in the end result is same as opening a indoor paintball field.

There is the article.. after reading it, it honestly just sounds like two older folks who aren't really hip with the speedball scene. My best guess is they will just put a scenario field in there ... You never know though.

From my understanding, from a person they bought some of their equipment from,it is going to be a speedball field. It was supposed to be open Black Friday but they are waiting on permits is what I also heard.

It would be great if it opened here sooner. While I love driving almost three hours either to Kentucky or Indiana, I'd rather be much closer for practice during the winter months.

I might tell you that I would not agree with that assessment. If done right, an indoor paintball field can be a very, very, very good investment. I have one GatSplat indoor, and am opening 2 more... Plus I have several individuals that are going to be opening franchises. You could not pay me enough to open an outdoor field.

But again.. it's all in how the business model is set up and how it's run.

At almost 90 a case how much profit is made on a case? I understand profit is not a bad word and you may not necessarily market to single people who shoot a case in a day per say.

Any of your fields in ohio? I doubt it. I have seen some many indoor fields open and close because Ohio is pretty nice most of the year. Players move indoors- End of November December January February, middleish of march

Again depending on weather right now it's first of December you could play outside if didn't mind the 40's but soon as the 40's hit in march everyone is back outside. We want play outside when the weather breaks we are sick of being indoors so we play outdoor activities including paintball outdoors.

So you have about 4 months of "Indoor" play most go back outside then.. not a very good business plan to make money...

Edit- you charge $87 a case that wouldn't fly here!

You could easily do an indoor in Ohio and charge $87 a case, and fill the place. The weather is great in Texas most the year...It's 66 this Saturday, and we are pre-booked with over 360 people for Saturday. It's more than weather and price. It's who you gear toward, what amenities you offer, etc.

Indoor Tournament players?? True - no profit there. Same with outdoor tournament players. The most margins come from the recreational side of paintball. But saying indoor will not work in Ohio is a false statement. If you want to say indoor Tournament fields will not work in Ohio, then I could not agree more.

That is not why they closed. They closed because they were poorly run, or were under funded starting, or had a flawed business model.

I have worked with several indoor fields in the Midwest - and if done right, they are very profitable business models.

You have a point, yet 87$ a case is ridiculous. I'd rather drive an hour and a half for $45 a case, heated indoors and great turf.
