Snow skating is a skateboard with a tiny ski attached underneath it, and the person is not hooked onto the board at any time, just like a normal skateboard also you don't need to have special boots to snow skate. Snowboarding, snowboards are bigger, and you are hooked in at all times, and you have special boots for it. there is also ski boarding, which are two tiny skis that you ride just like skis (boots and all).
Most resorts don’t allow the skateboard “snow skate” because they can get away from the rider and cause a lot of damage to other people and such.
